摘要： The invention relates to a disposable cartridge filled with a single serve portion of a liquid ingredient to be combined with a base liquid for the preparation of a liquid product, e.g. a beverage concentrate to be combined with water, e.g. carbonated water, for the preparation of a beverage suitable for human consumption. The cartridge comprises a vertically extending channel that extends to a dispensing aperture in the bottom of the cartridge and one or more dispensing passages extending between a reservoir and the outside of the cartridge. The dispensing passages are provided with outlet openings located adjacent the aperture such that the base liquid and the liquid ingredient are dispensed in parallel flows, the liquid ingredient subsequently coating the exterior of the stream of base liquid, such that actual mixing of the liquid ingredient and base liquid only takes place after both have been dispensed.

The dispensing apparatus (100) further comprises a pressurization dome (140) member having a peripheral gas seal (145) adapted to sealingly engage the disposable cartridge (1) around a location where said one or more openings are created in said sealing film (6) and the pressurized gas source (130) is connected to said dome member (140) and is adapted to feed pressurized gas beneath said dome member (140) within the contour of the peripheral gas seal (145) sealingly engaging the disposable cartridge (1), so as to allow said liquid ingredient in said reservoir to be pressurized by said gas via the one or more openings in said sealing film (6), thereby assisting the dispensing of the liquid ingredient from the reservoir via said one or more dispensing passages (15).

The package has a moulded plastic body with a bottom (3) and a circumferential wall (4). The package is sealed by a top sealing film (5). The body has a column (10) which is at its lower end integral with the centre of the bottom. The top sealing film is such that a base liquid feed lance (50) can passed through the film and engage with the upper end (11) of the column to dispense base liquid into the channel (12) of the column. The column has apertures (15), so as to allow base liquid that is dispensed from the feed lance, to flow to and through the apertures and then into the reservoir to be combined with the ingredient. The bottom has a multitude of filter holes (18) or discharge openings, so that the liquid introduced via the feed lance into the reservoir interacts with the ingredient and the product thus obtained flows out via the bottom. The bottom has a flexible portion (3a -c) around the column such that the column is movable downwards from an initial position to a lower operative position through engagement with feed lance and suitable relative displacement of the feed lance and the package. A bottom sealing film (20) is provided which breaks upon relative motion of the column to the lower operative position, creating one or more outflow openings in the film for outflow of the product from the package.

The air inlet is in communication with the collision chamber, so that in use the collision causes, air to be mixed with the liquid jet emerging from the outlet of the flow deflecting member, thereby generating a frothed liquid flow.
