摘要： Composite materials having domains of lithium oxometallates in an electronically conductive matrix, and methods of making such composite materials are provided. Exemplary lithiated metals oxides include, for example, doped or undoped lithium oxometallates of the formula Li 8 M a O 6 and/or Li 7 M b O 6 , wherein M a represents Zr and/or Sn, and M b represents Nb and/or Ta. Such composite materials can be used in lithium ion batteries, for example, as an active material such as an electrode that can store charge in the form of lithium ions.

摘要： The invention concerns a sedimentation basin (1) which has a rectangular layout and is used to separate sludge from waste water. The sedimentation basin (1) comprises a pipe (7) for feeding the mixture of sludge and waste water into the sedimentation basin (1), an arrangement (10) for clearing the deposited sludge, said arrangement being operated so that it sweeps along the floor (2) of the sedimentation basin (1), a removal arrangement (18) for the sludge, and an outlet (21) for the clear water. The sludge-removal arrangement (18) is provided on the opposite side of the sedimentation basin (1) to the feed pipe (7). The clearing arrangement (10) is operated such that the sludge is conveyed in the throughflow direction of the waste water through the sedimentation basin (1) at a speed which corresponds at least approximately to the throughflow speed of the waste water passing directly over the clearing arrangement (10).

An oligomer-grafted nanofiller composition for disposition in a polymer matrix, the polymeric matrix comprising polymers derived from a plurality of polymerizable units, can include a nanoparticle, one or more coupling groups bonded to the nanoparticle; and one or more oligomers bonded to the one or more coupling groups. In an embodiment the oligomer is derived from two or more polymerizable units, at least one polymerizable unit being at least substantially similar to at least one of the polymerizable units of the polymer matrix. In another embodiment the oligomer comprises two or more polymerizable units and improves dispersion, interfacial strength, or both dispersion and interfacial strength between the nanoparticle and the polymer matrix. Composites and methods are also disclosed.

摘要： Silver sodalites with cages containing anions such as oxalate, formate, halide, carbonate, sulphide etc. have silver compositions entrapped or encapsulated in the cages of a microporous sodalite lattice. The cages of the sodalite lattice have very small but very even sizes e.g. 6.6 Å diameters, so that the silver compositions trapped therein are also of very small but very even sizes. The silver compositions may be sensitive to the application of light, and may be sensitive to thermal or pressure stimuli. Thus, images produced by, for example, irradiation of the materials can be of very high resolution. The silver sodalite materials are prepared by a silver ion exchange process, from synthetic sodium sodalites.
