    • A syringe interface or adapter includes a first retaining member that pivots about an axis generally perpendicular to and offset from the axis of an injector piston when the syringe interface is attached to the injector. The first retaining member pivots in a rearward direction to engage a portion of the syringe flange. The syringe interface further includes a second retaining member slideably positioned within a passage in the syringe interface to slide in a direction generally perpendicular to the axis of the piston when the syringe interface is attached to the injector to engage a portion of the syringe flange. The first retaining member and the second retaining member preferably cooperate to engage the syringe flange around the entire perimeter of the syringe flange. The first retaining member is preferably biased toward an open position. The syringe interface can also include a rear portion having an attachment mechanism to attach the syringe interface to the injector.

    • A method of capacitance volume correction in fluid-containing expandable bodies and associated fluid pathways is disclosed for application in fluid delivery systems used to supply fluids to patients during radiographic imaging procedures including angiography. One embodiment is directed to a method of controlling delivery of fluid to a downstream process, including providing a fluid-containing expandable body, including a pressurizing element and in fluid communication with the downstream process, pressurizing the expandable body by moving the pressurizing element forward in the expandable body to reduce volume therein, and ceasing movement of the pressurizing element after allowing the pressurizing element to over-travel a sufficient distance to compensate for expansion of the expandable body under pressure. The expandable body may be a syringe and the pressurizing element may be a plunger disposed within the syringe. Movement of the pressurizing element is controlled by an algoπthm associated with a computer.
