    • An endoscopy suite is adaptable for carrying out a plurality of endoscopy procedures and/or for supporting several endoscopes being used simultaneously in a given procedure. The endoscopy suite comprises a memory unit in which are stored a plurality of predetermined sets of parameters. Each of these sets comprises a unique set of parameters for each of a plurality of endoscopic procedures. Once a specific endoscopic procedure has been selected by the operator of the endoscopy suite and one or more endoscopes appropriate for carrying out the specific endoscopic procedure has been connected to the endoscopy suite, then the set of parameters appropriate to the specific procedure are transferred automatically to a controller, which controls the operation of the components of the endoscopy suite to provide the predetermined lighting, suction, and insufflation pressure levels for the selected endoscopy procedure.

    • The invention is a stapler device comprising an anvil (24) and a staple cartridge (26) located in the distal tip of an endoscopic device. The staple cartridge is comprised of a fixed proximal portion (26i) and a moveable distal portion (2O2), which slides into said fixed portion. Means (34) are provided for moving the anvil back and forth, such that the anvil pushes against the distal face of the staple cartridge thereby pushing the moveable portion of the staple cartridge into the fixed portion and causing the staple to be ejected from said staple cartridge passively without said staple moving. The stapler of the invention has two embodiments, a side fastening embodiment and a front fastening embodiment. The endoscopic device that comprises the stapler can be used to perform many different stapling stacks, e.g. closure of a hole in the wall of an internal organ.

    • The present invention relates to an arrangement in an underwater apparatus having an electronic circuitry, for enabling recharge of the apparatus battery while the apparatus is in recharge state, and for preventing discharge of said battery when the apparatus is in operative state and underwater, the arrangement comprises: (a) connector at the outer sealing of the apparatus with contact points, wherein in a recharging state a charger is connected to said contact points; (b) a first switching device within the apparatus having active and inactive states, wherein in its active state the device connects said contact points to the battery therefore enabling recharge, and in the inactive state the device disconnects said contact points from the battery; and (c) external means for changing the state of the switching device from its active state to its inactive state or vice versa without opening the apparatus sealing.
