    • A method of drawing the loci of a tool and the like on a display screen (25) relying upon NC instruction programs on an optimum scale as quickly as possible. A microcomputer (10) finds a drawing magnification and center coordinates of drawn picture such that maximum coordinate values and minimum coordinate values input from key input means (15) can be contained in the display screen (25). Based upon the drawing magnification and center coordinates of a drawn picture, the loci of a tool determined by the NC instruction program are drawn on the display screen (25). In parallel with the drawing processing, the microcomputer (10) further finds maximum coordinate values and minimum coordinate values of the NC instruction program. If a predetermined instruction is input from the key input means (15) after the drawing processing has been finished, the microcomputer (10) finds a drawing magnification and center coordinates of drawn pictures such that maximum coordinate values and minimum coordinate values of the NC instruction program found in parallel with the drawing processing will be contained in the display screen (25). Based upon the thus found drawing magnification and center coordinates of drawn pictures, loci of tool specified by the NC instruction program are drawn on the display screen (25). Therefore, when the maximum coordinate values and minimum coordinate values input from the key input means (15) is suitable, the loci can be drawn satisfactorily in a single drawing processing. Even when the loci are not drawn satisfactorily in a single drawing processing, the whole loci of a tool can be drawn on the display screen (25) through a second drawing processing.
