    • This invention container comprises a container shell comprising a body portion, adjoining cap portion and enclosed stopper, and an engineered separation site to facilitate separation of body and cap. The stopper has a raised nipple on the stopper, positioned such that a portion of the stopper is enclosed within the body portion and a portion of the stopper is enclosed within the cap portion. When the cap portion is removed from the body portion, a portion of the nipple therefore extends out of the body portion, allowing easy access to the stopper for cleaning or contents removal. In addition, there is an engineered separation site which includes a partial attenuation of the thickness of part of the container wall. Raised gussets are provided to enhance the cooperation between the instant invention and various needle-free connectors known in the art.

    • A blister package for housing a medicament having a base layer and a blister layer, joined together in-part. Each layer has a tab creation separation line allowing a user to initiate a predetermined sequence of steps required to access the medicament. The tab creation separation lines are located interior to the perimeter of each associated layer. The tab creation separation lines selectively reduce the strength of the associated layer thereby allowing a user to "punch out," or create, a tab for use in accessing the medicament. A number of predetermined manipulations must be completed to access the medicament. These manipulations include applying a force to create a tab, removing the tab thereby creating a sinistral wing and a dextral wing, and rotating the sinistral wing and the dextral wing in opposite directions to cause a tear that exposes the medicament.

Alternative embodiments incorporate a product retention edge (350) that requires supplemental separation of the top (100) and bottom (200) layers to gain access to the product (P), as well as a secondary compartment (400) formed between the top (100) and bottom (200) layers.

    • The commercial formulation of fast dispersing dosage forms (FDDF) requires substantial holding times during which large quantities of pharmaceutically active substance are formed into individual dosage units. During this holding time, pharmaceutical agents with a propensity to polymorphism in an aqueous environment may crystallize into various, and sometimes unpredictable forms. These crystalline forms may affect the efficacy of the pharmaceutical agent. Previous attempts to control this process have included attempts to direct crystallization into a stable form. The instant invention acts to suppress crystallization, by utilizing a combination of standard molecular weight fish gelatin and a low processing temperature, to suppress crystallization to a degree that is not accomplished by either the use of standard molecular weight fish gelatin or low processing temperatures individually.

The procedure to access the medicament is easy for an adult to understand and accomplish, yet difficult for most children. The blister portion contains a base layer and a blister layer. The blister layer includes an article receiving blister designed for holding the medicament. The dispensing substrate has a dispensing substrate blister receiver. The blister receiver is configured to cooperate with the blister so it extends through the dispensing substrate. The blocking substrate includes a gate that initially covers a portion of the blister. The gate must be moved, or slid, out of the way in order to eject the medicament. The user applies a force to the gate causing it to translate between the backing substrate and the dispensing substrate.
