    • The invention relates to a hydraulic steering system (1) with a hydraulic steering unit (2), a priority valve (4), a pump (3), which is connected with the steering unit (2) via a supply line (16), in which the priority valve is arranged (4), and with a load-sensing system and at least one additional pressure sink (5), which is connected with the priority valve (4). In this connection it is endeavoured to ensure the steering, also when the pressure sink has a consumption of load-sensing pressure. For this purpose, the load-sensing system has a first load-sensing line (9), with a pressure (LS) determined by the steering unit, which pressure determines the position of the priority valve (4), and a second load-sensing line (13), which is connected on the one side with the control input (6) of the pump (3) and the additional pressure sink (5) and on the other side with a point in the supply line (16), means being provided for the adaptation of the pressure in the second load-sensing line (13) to the pressure in the first load-sensing line (9).
