    • Aspects of the present disclosure include a connector, an array of connectors, a method for manufacturing the connectors, and a method for using the connectors. The connectors are capable of carrying electrical or electric signal and include geometries to operate in holding, latching, or locking applications. The connector can include a contact housing formed by a first electrically conductive housing, a second electrically conductive housing and a housing sealing component at least partially isolating said first and second electrically conductive housings from each other. A body, such as a pin, a rod, or an elongated member, is provided. A first electrically conductive spring is located in a first groove and a second electrically conductive spring is located in a second groove inside the contact housing. Wherein a first electrical path and a second electrical path are formed when the body is inserted into the contact housing. In other examples, more than two electrical paths can be provided.

    • An encoding data processing apparatus generates a marked copy of a video material item by representing a payload data word as a code word and embedding the code word into a copy of the video material item. The apparatus comprises a code word generator including a pre-processor and an encryption processor. The preprocessor is operable to form a plurality of initial values, each having the same predetermined length, by representing one or more parts of the payload data word in one or more of the initial values, including a field index in each initial value and setting the remaining parts of the initial value to a predetermined value. The encryption processor is operable to receive each of the initial values and to generate an encrypted data stream from each of the initial values using a payload encryption key to provide a plurality of encrypted data streams. The combiner is operable to combine the parts of the encrypted data streams with the frames of the material item. A plurality of the initial values are arranged to include the same part of the payload data, and the value of the field index for the initial value including the same payload data is changed with respect to the other initial values. For each of the one or more initial values which represents the same payload data, the field index is arranged to have a different value. These initial values are formed from the same payload data and have the same format, with the remaining set to a predetermined value such as zero. In order to avoid the encrypted streams, which convey the same payload data producing the same encrypted data stream which is added to the material items, the field index is changed to identify each of the initial values. Thus, each of the resulting encrypted streams produced by the initial values will produce different encrypted data streams, which can thereby be more easily detected individually by correlation, even though each initial value otherwise conveys the same payload.

    • A downhole tool (10) comprises a body (12) having slots (34) communicating the outside of the body with the body through-bore (14). A sleeve actuator (30) and mandrel (16) are selectively axially slidable. The actuator has flanges (44) extending into the slots. The flanges have ribs on their sides that are inclined at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis (50) of the tool. Hollow bars (36) are slidable in the slots and they have channels inside corresponding with, and engaged in, the ribs of the flanges. The sleeve actuator slides in the body between a tool actuated position and a tool deactuated position. The mandrel is selectively axially slidable between a tool actuated position, an interlock position and a sleeve-lock position. A lock ball (68) locks (62, 70) the sleeve actuator with respect to the body in the tool deactuated position and while the mandrel is between the interlock and sleeve-lock positions. The lock ball (68) also locks (74, 70) the sleeve actuator with respect to the mandrel while the mandrel is between said interlock and tool actuated positions.
