    • A lifter bar for lifting an engaged portion of a load comprising a number of ore pieces above a disengaged portion of the load in a grinding mill having a shell rotatable about an axis thereof. The lifter bar includes a leading face having one or more leading surfaces, and a trailing face. The lifter bar is mountable on the shell located at a predetermined distance from a trailing face of a preceding lifter bar. When the lifter bar and the preceding lifter bar are mounted on the shell, the leading face and the trailing face of the preceding lifter bar at least partially define a pocket therebetween in which a part of the engaged portion of the load is at least partially retainable, until the leading surface is located in a predetermined release position, at which the part has substantially exited the pocket under the influence of gravity.

    • A discharge end liner attachable to a discharge end wall in a grinding mill. The discharge end liner includes a number of pulp lifter elements mountable on the discharge end wall for at least partially defining a number of chambers rotatable in the predetermined direction respectively between a submerged condition and a raised condition. The discharge end liner also includes one or more grate subassemblies positionable on the pulp lifter elements, for at least partially screening the slurry. At least a part of each grate subassembly is located by an outer portion of the pulp lifter element in a predetermined position relative to the discharge end wall. An inner portion of each pulp lifter element defines an obtuse angle between the inner portion and the outer portion, for permitting the retained portion of the slurry to evacuate from each chamber respectively while each chamber is in the raised condition.

    • A liner assembly mountable to a shell of a grinding mill, the shell being rotatable around an axis thereof. The liner assembly includes a number of wear plates, a number of lifter bars securable to the shell with the wear plates positioned between respective pairs of the lifter bars, and a number of fastening subassemblies. The liner assembly also includes a number of wear elements, each wear element being positioned at least partially in a liner portion selected from the group consisting of the lifter bars, the wear plates, and combinations thereof, for resisting wear of a leading intermediate portion located substantially between a leading face of the lifter bar and a lifter channel therein. The liner portion includes one or more liner portion body materials in which each wear element is at least partially embedded. The wear elements are substantially more abrasion-resistant than the liner portion body material.
