摘要： A drain cleaning machine with an electronic cable monitoring system is disclosed which comprises a frame supporting a rotatable drum which is driven by a motor through an endless belt. The drum contains a flexible drain cleaning cable which is rotatable with the drum and axially displaceable into and out from the drum, and the frame supports a cable feeding device through which the cable extends and by which the cable is displaced into and out of the drum. An electronic cable monitoring system is configured to assess an amount of cable payed out from and retracted into the drum. A process determines an amount and direction of relative movement between a rotatable drum and a cable follower member and generates a signal representative of an amount of cable payed out or retracted into the drum.

摘要： An optic system is provided for a down hole camera. The system includes an elongated tubular housing constructed from thermal insulating material. A front lens group and rear lens group are mounted within the housing adjacent opposite ends. The front and rear lens groups are thermally isolated from one another through the provision of two spaced windows therebetween that extend across and seal a light pathway running through the tubular housing. Preferably, the windows are sealingly mounted within the housing so as to define a vacuum chamber therebetween within the wall of the housing.

摘要： A blind locating system for finding and tracing buried objects such as utility lines, conductive pipes and sondes. A sensor array is coupled to a signal processor, which determines a field vector for one or more buried objects by producing a data signal representing a covariance matrix corresponding to the covariances of the time-varying sensor array signals over a selected frequency band and accumulation interval. The covariance matrix is characterized by eigenvalues and associated eigenvectors and a user interface (UI) indicates the field vector associated with the eigenvector having the largest eigenvalue. Using several different frequency bands, a plurality of underground objects may be simultaneously detected and indicated in the UI without foreknowledge of their existence or characteristics.

摘要： A down hole camera apparatus (10) includes a housing (12) for holding a camera (66) and a transmitter. The camera is adapted to capture and store a picture. The transmitter transmits the stored picture to a remote location at a frequency less than 7,000 Hz. Advantageously, this makes the apparatus compatible with operation over twisted pair cables (c) of the types standard in the industry. A receiving system (67) at the remote location receives the transmitted signal. Preferably, the receiving system includes a pair of receivers (198, 199). One receiver holds and displays a transmitted picture while another receiver simultaneously receives a picture being transmitted. A controller switches the operating mode of the receivers back and forth so that the display of the earlier picture and receipt of the next picture may be continuous if desired.
