    • A system, method and apparatus is provided for a display projector. The display projector and components thereof provide a variety of systems, methods and apparatuses which can be combined in various ways. In some embodiments, a display projector is provided which is highly efficient based on the use of an RGB LCoS system. In some embodiments, laser diodes are used as a light source and in other embodiments, LEDs (light emitting diodes) are used as a light source. In some embodiments, a projected overlay is used. In some embodiments, an alignment system and method is provided. In some embodiments, an integrated optical polarization combining prism is used. In some embodiments, dynamic range is increased through adjustment of the projected image. In some embodiments, a single set of projection optics are used to project three different colors in an alternating fashion. Each of the features mentioned with regard to some embodiments may be combined with the other features mentioned in various embodiments of systems, methods and apparatuses.

    • A method and apparatus for adaptive read and read-after-write for carbon nanotube recorders is described. In one embodiment, the invention is an apparatus, utilizing carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to read and write data, and deflecting the emissions of such CNTs precisely in the process. In an alternate embodiment, the invention is a method of locating CNTs for purposes of reading and writing data on a disk, using a rough location and feedback to refine the location into a precise location for the track, both for a group of heads and for individual heads within the group. Location may include both physical movement of the heads and deflection of emissions of the heads.

In one embodiment, an optical tape guiding system for use in an optical tape drive which may write to optical tape is provided. The optical tape (100) has a first edge (110) and is disposed to be transported through the optical tape drive, and the optical tape (100) exhibits transverse motion during transport through the optical tape drive. The system includes a curved edge guide (120) disposed to maintain contact with the first edge (110) of the optical tape (100) during transport through the optical tape drive. The system may further include a mirror galvanometer disposed to direct a record beam of the optical tape system to the optical tape (100).
