摘要： A device for displaying and holding mat board corner samples is provided. The device includes two end members, between which mat board corner samples can be seated. The end members may include a plurality of notches so that a plurality of generally L-shape mat board corner samples can be seated at varying offsets relative to each other. The end members may alternatively include flat surfaces so that generally chevron-shaped mat board corner samples can be slidably seated between the end members at varying offsets relative to each other. The end members are attached to a support and can be removable seated on a display board. Art work can be removable mounted on the display board as well. Thus, mat board corner samples that are seated between the two end members can be displayed in conjunction with art work to be framed.

摘要： A frame assembly for quickly, easy, and inexpensively framing a work of art without requiring any special tools or skills. The frame assembly includes a transparent protective member and support member. A work of art is positioned between the protective and support members. One or more frame members are then used to secure the protective and support members together. Frame members may be two or three dimensional. Each frame member has a slot defined therein to be slidably displaced over the assembled protective and support members with the work of art disposed therebetween. An internal rib projects outwardly into the slot of the frame member. This rib is received within a corresponding slot defined in at least a portion of the support member. To further ensure that the protective and support members remain secured together, a retaining member, such as a spring clip, leaf clip, or eccentric cam, may be positioned within the slot of the frame member to produce a force against the support member. The assembled frame may be mounted to the wall using a variety of different techniques.

The mat board includes a top facing layer (110) and/or backing layer (115), each comprising a buffer and/or deacidifying agent, adhered to a middle board or layer (105) by an adhesive (120) containing zeolites. Another embodiment discloses mixing polystyrene pellets with zeolite using an extruder and one or more blowing agents to form a foam material. One or more paper layers comprising a buffer and/or deacidifying agent are heat-fused, without the use of adhesives, to the surface of the foam to form a preservation mat board.

摘要： An improved picture frame clamp assembly (40) includes an L-shaped screw plate (42), and an L-shaped backing plate (48). Both plates (42, 48) are elastically secured to each other by an elastic member (58), resulting in an L-shaped clamp assembly (40) with the screw plate (42) shifted slightly with respect to the backing plate (48). The screw plate (42) and the backing plate (48) each include two legs (44, 50). Each of these legs (44, 50) are sized to fit within a receiving channel (18) of a picture frame section (12). The magnitude of offset between the screw plate (42) and the backing plate (48) is larger than the width (W) of the receiving channel (18). This arrangement ensures that upon insertion into the receiving channel (18) of a frame section (12), the screw plate (42) will be biased against an inside wall (22) of the receiving channel (18), while the backing plate (48) will be biased against an opposing wall (20) of the receiving channel (18) due to the spring bias of the elastic member (58). The result is that each frame section is urged into tight engagement and alignment with the legs (44, 50) of the clamp assembly (40).
