    • A wiring junction block, e . g. for tail lamp pigtails in a vehicle lighting system. The wiring junction block includes a body having an input end including a first set of electrical terminals for receiving electrical power from a vehicle wiring harness. The body also has an output end including a second set of electrical terminals for supplying the received electrical power to one or more vehicle lamps. The second set of terminals includes at least one group of two or more terminals that are electrically shorted to each other. The number of terminals in the first set is less than the number of terminals in the second set. A mounting feature is located on the body and is adapted to enable mounting of the body to a vehicle support structure, e.g. apertured panel. The input and output terminals may be electrically connected by stamped circuit traces or a printed circuit board.

    • A lamp and socket assembly (10) comprises a housing (12) including a socket cavity (25). The socket cavity (25) is defined by side walls and a bottom wall (80). A vent hole (82) passes though the bottom wall (80) of the socket cavity. A lamp (16) has a lamp base (17). A lamp socket (14) is disposed in the socket cavity (25) and includes a through passage (42) for receiving the lamp base (17) and at least one retaining finger (38a, 38b) for retaining the lamp base (17) in the through passage (42). An electrical contact insert (26) is received in the socket cavity (25). A plurality of electrical contacts (28) are received in and retained by the contact insert (26). A plurality of blade terminals (46) are interlocked with the contact insert (26), with respective ones of the contacts (28), and with the housing (12). A hydrophobic and/or oleophobic vent patch (83) is disposed in the socket cavity (25) and completely covers the vent hole (82) to permit trapped vapors and gasses to escape while repelling water and/or oil.

    • A lamp socket for an automotive exterior lamp assembly that can be used with a replaceable incandescent bulb. The lamp socket comprises a plastic socket made from nylon 4,6. The lamp socket exhibits reduced outgassing that would otherwise result from photo-oxidative degradation of the polymers in the plastic socket. This helps prevent fogging of the lamp assembly lens and/or reflector for improved performance and aesthetic appearance over the life of the lamp assembly. The incandescent bulb used in the assembly can include a press-sealed end having a sleeve attached over the press-sealed end, and the sleeve can be made from at least one of nylon 4,6, PEI and PPA. The incandescent bulb may also have a molded plastic base, and the base can also be made from at least one of nylon 4,6, PEI and PPA.
