    • Provided is a seat spring structure for a motorcycle, the structure including both an open-seat retainer spring and a closing-seat damper spring. The structure can be easily assembled and disassembled and have few spatial limitations. A seat spring structure for a motorcycle includes: a seat hinge structure openably retaining a seat 1, on which a driver can sit, to a vehicle body with at least a hinge shaft; an open-seat retainer structure included in the seat hinge structure and including a seat opening spring 5 capable of retaining the seat 1 at a seat open position in an open state and applying biasing force to a cam structure 6 and a cam 7; and a closing-seat damper spring 8 included in the seat hinge structure and applying biasing force in a seat opening direction. The open-seat retainer structure is provided to one side of the hinge shaft in an axial direction thereof. The closing-seat damper spring 8 is provided, separately from the hinge shaft, to another side of the hinge shaft in the axial direction thereof and is fitted to a spring stay 9 that is attachable to and detachable from the seat hinge structure.

    • An electronic control unit (ECU) mounting structure for a motorcycle having an ECU and seat rails passing both sides of an under-seat utility box is characterized in that: the utility box includes a recess portion inward of the seat rails, and the ECU resides inward of the seat rails, between a given seat rail and the recess portion of the utility box. The ECU inwardly faces the utility box recess portion. The seat rail overlaps portions of the ECU from a side view. Other electric parts are installable outside of the seat rail, at positions overlapping portions of the ECU from a side view. Spatial gaps exist between the ECU and a) the seat rail, and b) the utility box recess portion. The ECU avoids overlapping the utility box from a front view. The ECU mounting structure eliminates the need for special ECU protection covers, and keeps the motorcycle body shape slim.
