摘要： A magnetic head lifting device of a magneto-optical recorder and/or reproducer which uses a disc cartridge in which a magneto-optical disc is housed. The magnetic head lifting device has a magnetic head lift driving mechanism which moves a magnetic head to a position higher than an upper position at which is a holder which is movable between the upper position where the disc cartridge is loaded or ejected and a lower position where information signals are recorded on and/or reproduced from the magneto-optical disc in the cartridge. When the disc cartridge is inserted/withdrawn into/from the holder, the touch between the disc cartridge and the magnetic head is avoided to protect the magnetic head. The distance that the magnetic head moves between the position at which the information signal is recorded and the position at which the information signal is not recorded is small and therefore the magneto-optical recorder and/or reproducer is thin.

摘要： A loading device for loading a disk cartridge which comprises groove portions formed in side surfaces along a direction of insertion and a shutter provided movably along the side surfaces, in which the groove portions are formed. The loading device comprises a holder adapted to receive a disk cartridge and to be movable between a first position where insertion or discharge of a disk cartridge is performed, and a second position lower than the first position, and an eject lever adapted to be operatively moved by a disk cartridge inserted into the holder and to be partly inserted into a groove of the disk cartridge when insertion of the disk cartridge into the holder is completed, the eject lever being biased in a direction, in which the disk cartridge inserted into the holder is discharged from the holder. Provided on the holder is a holding mechanism for holding the eject lever in a position where insertion of a disk cartridge into the holder is completed, and releasing holding of the eject lever when the holder is moved from the second position to the first position.
