    • A heat-sensitive recording material having a support and, formed thereon, a heat-sensitive recording layer containing an electron-donating colorless dye and an electron-accepting compound, wherein the electron-accepting compound is represented by the formula: R -Ph-SO2R wherein R is a hydroxyl group or an alkyl group, R is -Ph, -NH-Ph, -Ph-OR , or -NH-CO-NH-Ph, R is an alkyl group, and Ph represents a(substituted) phenyl group, and wherein it satisfies any one of the following requirements: that the remaining percentage of the concentration of a printed portion thereof after the irradiation under a specific condition is 80 % or more, that the electron-accepting compound has a particle diameter of 1.0 mum or less, a non-image portion has a whiteness of 75 to 90 %, and an image portion exhibits a reduction percentage of concentration when it is allowed to stand under a specific condition of 50 % or less, and that an image portion exhibits a reduction percentage of concentration when it is allowed to stand under a specific condition of 50 % or less and it contains a specific sensitizer; and also a heat-sensitive recording material, wherein an image portion exhibits a reduction percentage of concentration when it is allowed to stand under a specific condition of 50 % or less, and it exhibits an image concentration of 0.15 or less after it is contacted with a heat source of 70 ° C for 5 seconds.
