摘要： In a receiver for processing OFDM encoded signals, wherein the OFDM encoded digital signals are transmitted by means of a symbol in each of subcarrier frequency channels, with at least some of said subcarriers containing user data symbols, an initial estimate of a channel frequency response is formed from magnitudes of user data symbols received in those subcarriers. Then, a correlation function of a channel impulse response is estimated by performing an inverse Fourier transform on the initial estimate of the channel frequency response, and the length of the channel impulse response is estimated by examining peaks in the estimated correlation function of the channel impulse response.

摘要： In an OFDM mobile communications system, an algorithm for forming a preliminary estimate of the channel on pilot subcarriers is carried out. Based on this preliminary estimate, a channel property is estimated. This channel property is then used to decide whether to enter a mobile receiver mode or a stationary receiver mode. For example, in the mobile mode channel estimation is performed using only pilot symbols from the current symbol period, while in the static mode channel estimation is performed using pilot symbols from the current symbol period and pilot symbols from other symbol periods.

摘要： A method of signal processing and a signal processor for a receiver for OFDM encoded digital signals. OFDM encoded digital signals are transmitted as data symbol subcarriers in several frequency channels. A subset of the sub-carriers is in the form of pilot subcarriers having a pilot value (a p ) known to the receiver. The method comprises estimation of a channel transfer function ( H ) and a derivative of the channel transfer function ( H’ ) by means of a channel estimation scheme from a received signal ( y ). Then, an estimation of data ( a ) is performed from the received signal ( y ) and the channel transfer function ( H ). Finally, an estimation of a cleaned received signal (y2 ) is performed from the data ( a ), the derivative of the channel transfer function (H') and the received signal ( y ) by removal of inter-carrier interference (ICI), by taking into account at least one of a previous and a future OFDM symbol, followed by an iteration of the above-mentioned estimations.

摘要： A method of signal processing for a receiver for OFDM encoded digital signals. The OFDM encoded digital signals are transmitted as data symbol sub-carriers in several frequency channels. A subset of the sub-carriers is in the form of pilot sub-carriers having a pilot value (a p ) known to the receiver. First, a received signal ( y o) is obtained, followed by a first estimation of a pilot channel transfer function ( H o ) at pilot sub-carriers from said received signal ( y o ) and said known pilot values (a p ). Then a second estimation of a channel transfer function ( H 1 ) is performed at all sub-carriers from said pilot channel transfer function ( H o ) . A third estimation of a derivative ( H' 1) of the channel transfer function ( H 1 ) is performed from the channel transfer function ( H 1 ) and a channel transfer function ( H 3 ) from a past OFDM symbol. Finally, a fourth estimation of a cleaned received signal ( y 1 ) is performed from said derivative ( H' 1 ) , said received signal (y o ) and said pilot values (a p ) by removal of pilot-induced interference.

摘要： In wireless communication systems for digital video broadcasting, a receiver apparatus comprises a Viterbi decoder. This Viterbi decoder requires logarithm of likelihood ratios as an input. For a fading channel, the fading strength can be taken into account for computing the logarithm of likelihood ratios. In a mobile environment, because of the movement of the receiver, the fading strength varies . The receiver apparatus (1) of the invention determines logarithm of likelihood ratios in dependence of an estimate for a power of disturbance that is individually determined for each subcarrier. Hence, the logarithm of likelihood ratios can be calculated accurately and with an improved performance .

摘要： A method of signal processing for a receiver for OFDM encoded digital signals, for counteracting inter-carrier interference (ICI) caused by Doppler broadening. The OFDM encoded digital signals are transmitted as sub-carriers in several channels, which form OFDM blocks. The method comprises estimation of a channel transfer function (H 1 ) by a channel estimation scheme in each sub-carrier and estimation of data (a 1 ) by a data estimation scheme from said channel transfer function (H 1 ) and a received signal (y o ). Then, a derivative (H j’ ) of said channel transfer function in each sub-carrier is estimated by a temporal filtering; and the inter-carrier interference (ICI) is removed from said received signal by using the estimated data (â 1 ) and the estimated derivative (H j’ ) of the channel transfer function in order to obtain a cleaned received signal (y 1 ).

摘要： A method of signal processing and a signal processor for a receiver for OFDM encoded digital signals. The OFDM encoded digital signals are transmitted as data symbol sub-carriers in several frequency channels. A first estimation of channel coefficients (H 0 ) at said pilot sub-carriers is performed followed by cleaning of the estimated channel coefficients (H 0 ) at the pilot sub-carriers. Then, a second estimation of channels coefficients (H 1 ) is performed at the data symbol sub-carriers. The first estimation is performed by dividing received symbols (y p ) at said pilot sub-carriers by the known pilot symbols (a p ). the channel frequency response is supposed to vary linearly within one OFDM symbol. Therefore for each symbol and sub-band, a channel frequency response and its derivate are calculated or interpolated.
