摘要： A security device for securing an item of merchandise from theft is provided. The security device includes a housing configured to be coupled to the item of merchandise and a lock mechanism operably engaged with the housing. The lock mechanism is operable to lock the item of merchandise within or to the housing in a locked configuration and to allow the item of merchandise to be removed from the housing in an unlocked configuration. The lock mechanism is configured to communicate with an electronic key for locking and/or unlocking thereof. The security device also includes an alarm operably engaged with the housing and configured to generate a security signal in response to tampering the housing. The alarm is configured to communicate with the electronic key for arming and/or disarming thereof.

摘要： A merchandise sensor (20) for protecting an item of merchandise (M) displayed on a merchandise display security device from theft includes sensor electronics (26) and a sensor element (28) operably coupled to the sensor electronics. The sensor element provides an output value in an initial stable state before an interaction state and in a subsequent stable state following the interaction state. The sensor electronics compares the output value of the sensor element in the subsequent stable state and the output value of the sensor element in the initial stable state to determine whether a change in the output value indicates an alarm condition. In the event that the output value of the sensor element in the subsequent stable state is not within a predetermined tolerance bandwidth (TB) of the output value of the sensor element in the initial stable state, the sensor electronics activates an alarm in response to the alarm condition.

摘要： Security systems and methods (10, 10', 10") configured for use with an item of merchandise (20, 20', 20") for retail display include a housing (21, 51', 56"), at least one sensor (26, 26', 26") carried by the housing, and at least one output device (27, 27', 27") carried by the housing. The security system further includes a controller (35, 35', 35") carried by the housing and operably coupled to the sensor and to the output device. The controller is operable to determine a distance traveled by the item of merchandise from a retail display "home" position (37, 37', 37") based upon a sensor input from the sensor, and to activate the output device based upon the distance traveled by the item of merchandise exceeding a threshold distance. The controller may utilize the at least one sensor in conjunction with an inertial navigation system (INS) and motion processing algorithms or techniques to determine the distance traveled by the item of merchandise from the retail display "home" position. The components (sensor, controller and output device) of the security system may belong to an electronic item of merchandise being displayed and configured in an anti- theft mode or externally applied to the item. A potential purchaser is free to examine the item but is prevented from stealing it.

摘要： A security system (20) for a merchandise shelf (S) includes an elongate rod (32) having a free first end (31) and a second end (33) adapted to be secured on the shelf with at least one tether (40) attached to an item of merchandise (M) removably disposed on the rod. A locking nose (50) includes a mounting plate (55) adapted to be secured on the shelf and a housing (52, 54) configured for sliding movement relative to the mounting plate between an unlocked position and an unlocked position. A locking mechanism (58, 64, 66) releasably locks the housing to the first end of the rod to retain the tether on the rod. A key (70) is operable to transfer electrical power to unlock the locking mechanism and permit the housing to be moved to the unlocked position to remove the tether from the rod. The rod and mounting plate are secured on the shelf without accessing the underside.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for preventing unauthorized access to server racks. In one example, a system includes an electronic key and an electronic lock configured to be attached to the server rack. The electronic lock is configured to communicate with the electronic key for determining whether the electronic key is authorized to unlock or lock the lock. The electronic lock includes a handle configured to be disengaged from the electronic lock when the electronic key is authorized, and the handle is configured to be actuated to unlock the lock for accessing the server rack when the handle is disengaged from the electronic lock. The electronic lock is configured to re-lock only when the handle is engaged with the electronic lock.

摘要： An electronic key (20, 120) including an internal power source (31, 131) is provided for transferring electrical power to a merchandise security device (40, 140) to operate a mechanical lock mechanism. In one embodiment, the key transfers power to the device via electrical contacts (36, 38) disposed on a transfer probe (25) of the electronic key and corresponding electrical contacts (45, 46) disposed within a transfer port (42) of the device when the transfer probe engages the transfer port. In another embodiment, the key transfers power to the device via inductive transfer as a result of passing an electrical current through an inductive coil (126) disposed within a transfer probe (125) to generate a magnetic field in the vicinity of a corresponding inductive coil (146) disposed within a transfer port (142) and thereby induce an electric current in the inductive coil of the device. In other embodiments, the electronic key is programmed with a security code and the key initially programs the merchandise security device with the security code and subsequently determines whether the security code of the key matches the security code of the device to permit the key to transfer power to the device.

The cabinet lock includes a strike plate (32) affixed to the inner door and a lock housing (22) affixed to the outer door such that the cabinet is in a locked configuration that prevents access to the merchandise when the lock housing is operably engaged with the strike plate.
