    • The invention provides a wheel suspension comprising a frame which can be mounted to a remaining part of a vehicle, being pivotable with respect thereto against spring pressure generated by spring means, a wheel comprising a rim, which is rotatable about an axis of rotation with respect to the frame, and brake means for braking the rotation of the wheel. The wheel suspension further comprises driving means for driving the rotation of the wheel and transmission means for transmitting driving power to the wheel. The invention further provides a method for unloading a load compartment provided with a loading floor of a self-propelling vehicle fitted with wheels, comprising the characterizing step of lowering the load compartment from an upper position to a lower position so as to make it possible to unload a selfpropelling vehicle, in which lower position the underside of the loading floor of the load compartment is mainly supported on the supporting surface for the wheels of the self-propelling vehicle. The invention also provides a self-propelling vehicle for use with such a method wherein the distance between the upper side of the loading floor and the underside of the loading floor of the load compartment is maximally 15 cm.
