    • The invention relates to a method for operating a brushless electric motor, the windings of which are energised by an inverter with the aid of six switches. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren sieht daher vor, dassnach Erkennung eines leitend defekten Schalters (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) die Wicklungen (U, V, W) derart angesteuert werden, dass ein im Mittel positives Motormoment erzeugt wird. Dazu wird eine Ansteuerungsperiode des Elektromotors (1) in mehrere Sektoren (S1 bis S12) unterteilt, wobei in Abhängigkeit des defekten Schalters (beispielsweise 16) einzelne Sektoren (S1, S2, S11, S12) zur Ansteuerung der Wicklungen (U, V, W) deaktiviert werden, während die anderen Sektoren (S3 bis S8) zur Ansteuerung der Wicklungen (V, W) dienen.
