    • The present invention relates to a coupling device for releasably coupling tubes of a pole dancing pole. The coupling device comprises a body, and a mechanism comprising a first threaded element and a screw member mating with each other, the mechanism being arranged to apply a force to an interior surface of at least one of the tubes by turning the screw member with respect to the first threaded element. The mechanism is further arranged such that, during operation of the mechanism to increase the force applied to the interior surface of at least one of the tubes, a screw axis of the first threaded element and a screw axis of the screw member remain substantially aligned with each other. The present invention further relates to a pole dancing pole and a pole dancing pole kit comprising the coupling device in accordance with the present invention.

    • Jet turbine engines used by aeromodellers suffer a number of incoveniences. They must be run up initially using compressed air to rotate the turbine. A turbine engine (1), is disclosed having a compressor (2) towards the front and a turbine (4) towards the rear and connected by a shaft (6). An electric motor (70) and/or generator has a rotor (72) mounted on the shaft preferably between the compressor and the turbine. This arrangement removes the need for a compressed air supply. A small starter battery is suitable to run up a model engine and, with any necessary controller, is convenient to carry or may be mounted on board, if desired. Once the engine is running, the starter battery and/or the receiver battery may be charged from the generator.
