摘要： An actuation mechanism (10) is disclosed for a stowable front roof panel (11) comprising a first support assembly (12a, 12b; 15, 16a, 16b, 17 and 18) to provide vertical movement of the roof panel 11 and a second sliding support structure (13a, 13b, 21a, 21b, 22a, 22b, 30, 31a, 31b, 33a, 33b and 34a, 34b) to provide horizontal movement of the front roof panel (11). The first support assembly includes first and second upwardly extending supports (12a, 12b) and a transverse tubular cross member (15) that in combination form an inverted U-shaped roll over protection member (110). The roll over protection member (110) is used to provide roll over protection to the occupants of the motor vehicle (1) in the event of a vehicle roll over.

摘要： A motor vehicle (5) is disclosed having one or more seat assemblies (10) each of which has an automatically stowable head restraint (13) associated with it. Each head restraint (13) is pivotally supported by a stowable rear roof panel (7) and is biased into a stowed position in which it lies adjacent to the rear roof panel (7) by a spring. A latch mechanism (20) is used to hold the head restraint in a lowered position in which it depends downwardly from the roof (panel 7) for use by an occupant of the motor vehicle (5). The latch mechanism (20) is automatically released by the process of stowing the rear roof panel (7) or a front roof panel (6).
