    • A cell composed of a polymeric layer which encapsulates a nematic liquid crystal which is self-adherent to an electrically conducting glass or plastic sandwich-like support. The cell is transparent in its natural state and becomes opaque by applying an electrical field (reverse-mode operation). The method for manufacturing a cell according to the present invention consists in dispersing, in a polymerizable organic medium, microspheres of nematic liquid crystal, forming a fluid emulsion. The emulsion is placed between two rigid or flexible glass or plastic supports which are rendered electrically conducting; then, by means of the action of a magnetic field (or other force field), the liquid crystal molecules are orientated; this also causes an impression, at the interface of the orientated liquid crystal spheres, in the dispersing organic medium. In this condition in which a magnetic field or other force field is present, the organic medium is polymerized for example by ultraviolet radiation or by heating. Once polymerization has occurred, and once the magnetic field has been removed, the liquid crystal molecules maintain their orientation, which can be altered reversibly by applying an electrical field to the conducting support. Operation is of the "reverse mode" type with high optical contrast.

    • A new type of organic solid electrochromic material obtainable by means of drugging of solid preexistant polimeric films with electrochromic molecules and plastifizing molecules nas been invented. Such material has the self-support charatteristics and can, hence, be realized both in sheets, suitable to be subsequently laminated between glaze o plastic surfaces, in laminas with conducting surfaces utilizable without further supports, and in forms different from that planar. Both the products deprived of further supports, and the composits laminated between glaze or plastic supports, which will be obtained from the electrochromic film object of the present invention, are characterized by high transparence and electro-chromism, being it possible to change their colour by application of weak electric field. The film can also be obtained in a version containing mycrodrops of Liquid Crystals, such to possess beyond the electrochromic characteristics also those electro-optical of PDLC film. In such version it is possible to modulate both its colour and its transparence. The electrochromic reponse time can be graded varying the engaged chemical formulations. In a more rapid version the reponse time is inferior also to that of fluid electrochromic films. The material is prepared by cooling of mixtures obtained by dissolving on heat the preformed polymers and the percentages of electrochromic molecules or other eventual substances as conducting or plasticizing polymers or olygomers. The material. presented in this invention is innovative compared to previous electrochromic materials, not only for the particular composition and formulation of the materials, but it can also be realized without being necessary bordered with glaze or plastic supports. The films of the material can be subsequently laminated between other conducting supports. However, some versions of the materials can be engaged without further supports. In this case the layers of organic or inorganic material with high electrical conductivity and further layers of externa isolation will have to be applied on their surfaces. In one of the versions the material object of the invention can be produced also in a variable trasparence way, adding to the formulations opportune quantities of liquid crystalline plasticizers. (electrochromic PDLC).

    • A display device comprising a flat or slightly hollow cell in which a thin layer of liquid crystals with negative dielectric anisotropy is interposed in a sandwich-like fashion between two transparent supporting layers made of glass or plastics whose faces, on the side of the liquid crystals, are rendered electrically conducting and are covered by a layer of a polymer having special characteristics, with a highly fractured surface divided into islands.     • The present invention regards a chemical-physical process fertilizer production from organic waste, catalyzed by a catalyst composed by salts and organometallic complexes of transition metals in which the humid organic wastes, opportunely smashed in pieces of millimetrical dimensions, are shaked by means of opportune movement systems in presence of said catalyst up to the moment in which the water content present in the reacting mass becomes inferior to determined fractions of global mass. The invention regards also the production plant of said process characterized by the presence of at least: a) mills for the materials smashing; b) a feeding device of the reaction chambers which permits the balancing of different types of wastes so that the produced fertilizer obtains assigned chemical compositions; c) one or more than one reaction chambers in which the reacting mass can be opportunely shaked in order to favour the continuous mixing of the material and the fixing of the equal reaction conditions in the entire mass of reacting material; d) a sieve for the separation of plastic, glass or other undesirable materials with dimensions superior to those of produced fertilizer; e) devices for the heating and circulation of hot liquids acted to maintain the conditions of temperature settled for the best conduction of the processes; f) devices for the refrigeration and circulation of cold liquids acted to condense the water vapours eliminated during the drying process; g) traps for the reduction of gas emissions from the reaction environment; h) devices for gathering and bagging of produced fertilizer; i) wastes moving devices; 1) automation and process conditions control devices.

    • The invention concerns a polymer film able to release progressively coloured substances or photonically colourable substances that can highlight the spots where the same film has been in touch with any kind of surfaces. In practical application the film will be supported by gloves, weared by the health operators during their usual activities. The film, applied to the gloves, will, therefore, highlight all the spots on the equipment and other structures that have been touched, also accidentally, by the health staff during surgical operations on their patients. The main function of this film will be that of eliminating the problem of transmitting infections to other patients because of an indirect contact with germs by health operators (crossed infections). The systems, which could be developed thanks to this film, object of this invention, will be able to highlight the spots that, in medical environment, should be disinfected after a surgical operation, before starting the next one on another patient.
