    • An embodiment common mode noise reduction apparatus comprises a common mode choke, a balance inductor, a first capacitor and a second capacitor. The common mode choke is placed between an input dc source and a primary side network of an isolated power converter. The balance inductor is coupled between an upper terminal of a primary winding of the isolated power converter and a negative terminal of the input dc source. The first capacitor is coupled between the upper terminal of a primary side of a transformer and an upper terminal of a secondary side of the transformer of the isolated power converter. The second capacitor is coupled between a lower terminal of the primary side of the transformer and a lower terminal of the secondary side of the transformer of the isolated power converter.

    • A bridgeless power factor correction circuit (100) and method. The circuit comprises a first boost converter, a second boost converter, a first switch (SR 1 ), a second switch (SR 2 ), a first surge protection diode (D surge1 ) and a second surge protection diode (D surge2 ). The first boost converter is coupled between the first terminal of an input AC source (104) and an output of the circuit. The second boost converter is coupled between the second terminal of the input AC source (104) and the output. The first switch (SR 1 ) is coupled between the first terminal of the input AC source (104) and ground. The second switch (SR 2 ) is coupled between the second terminal of the input AC source (104) and the ground. The first surge protection diode (D surge1 ) is coupled between the first terminal of the input AC source (104) and the output. The second surge protection diode (D surge2 ) is coupled between the second terminal of the input AC source (104) and the output. The first and the second switches (SR 1 , SR 2 ) help to reduce the common mode noise of the circuit.
