    • A field sprayer is self propelled and includes a frame (22, 23) with an engine (13) mounted on the frame, four wheels hydraulically driven, a tank (17) and a boom (18) supported by the frame and extending outwardly to the sides. The frame includes a longitudinally beam (24), a front transverse channel (10A) and a rear transverse channel (11A). Each of the channels supports a pair of axle members (36, 37) separately pivotal about axis adjacent the centre line of the frame. Each axle member (36, 34) includes a horizontal portion (39) which can be extended on-the-go and a vertical portion (46) which is attached to the wheel. A gas spring (50) is connected between the channel (10A, 11A) and the upper surface of the axle member (36, 37). Articulated steering is provided by a vertical pin (123) connecting the front portion of the frame (10) relative to the rear portion of the frame (11) with the pin being arranged just rearward of the front axle. The boom (18) is adjustable in height to accommodate both fully grown crops and ground spraying conditions.

    • A pneumatic spreading system for particulate material such as granular fertilizer includes tank (10) and a pair of booms (12) extending outwardly from the tank for transportation across the ground. A pair of parallel belts (28, 29) lie in the same horizontal plane and carry metered layers of the material out of one end of the tank (10) adjacent the booms (12) for discharge as a curtain of the material at a discharge end of the belt. The booms (12) each include a plurality of pipes (13-17) with all of the pipes lying side by side in the same horizontal plane and each pipe including two distribution nozzles (18, 19) forming a split pipe arrangement. A manifold (47) for airflow is positioned between the two booms (12) injecting air into each pipe of both booms. Each pipe includes a feed opening (50) into which the material falls from the discharge end (40). A guide arrangement (60) in the form of a plurality of funnels (61-65) is provided between the discharge end (40) and the pipes with the funnels formed from sidewalls and end walls which are shaped to guide the material to the staggered feed openings (50) of the pipes. Additional materials in particulate or liquid form can be applied onto the belt (28, 29) for simultaneous spreading action.
