摘要： An air conditioning system includes a first chamber having a plurality of first sectors, a second chamber having a plurality of second sectors, a first airflow device forming a first airflow through the first chambre, a second airflow device forming a second airflow through the second chamber, and a heat and mass transfer substance flowing in a plurality of the first and second sectors, the substance interacting with the first and second airflows through the first and second chambers. Thermal inducement apparatus thermally interacts with the substance establishing a thermal gradient between the first sectors and a thermal gradient between the second sectors providing a heat and mass energy gradient for the first airflow through the first sectors and a reversed heat and mass energy gradient for the second airflow through the second sectors. Plumbing is provided, which moves the substance throughout the system.

摘要： A method and apparatus for heat and mass transfer is described that is applicable to: regeneration of liquid dessicant solutions, heat pumping of humid gases, cooling and dehumidifying of gases for air conditioning, and water absorption from air. Generally, using a moving gas (12), at a constant pressure, a continual change in a vapor-liquid equilibrium is created between proximate but continually changing gas and liquid desiccant temperatures within an energy transferring chamber. Chamber wetting, implemented segmentedly (38, 40, 42), allows mass transfer into and from the moving gas. A forced temperature differential between heat sinks (62) and sources (72) causes heat transferred by means of thermally conductive barriers. Concurrent with temperature variances, the segmented wetting further allows liquid desiccant (44) concentrations caused by evaporation or condensation, to vary between wetted sectors (38, 40, 42). A migratory movement connecting these wetted sectors provides for development of applicable concentration gradients between the wetted sectors along the chamber length.
