    • A mobile electronic device includes a housing; a processor; and an interactive display mounted within the housing and communicably coupled to the processor. The display has a tactile interface operable to receive contact from a user and, in response to the contact, provide a perceived first texture of a first portion of the display that is different than a perceived second texture of a second portion of the display. A user-selectable content item is displayed on the second portion of the display that when selected by the user, modifies a content being displayed on the display. The first portion of the display forms a perimeter boundary about the second portion of the display.

    • In a computer-implemented method, an electronic communication from a first computing machine is received and includes a power value and one or more priority values. The power value represents a request for a power allotment expected to be used during a predetermined time and the priority values represent priorities of tasks expected to be executed during the predetermined time. A score for the request is calculated using a scoring function and the received priority values as inputs to the scoring function. The score is compared to one or more other scores respectively associated with requests for power allotments from other computing machines and previously calculated using the scoring function following receipt of one or more electronic communications each including a power value and one or more priority values. A top-ranked score is identified and an electronic communication is sent to the associated computing machine granting the requested power allotment.

    • A system for cooling air in a data center includes a data center having electronic equipment in operation, a cooling water source, and a plurality of on-floor cooling units. The cooling water source is configured to retain at maximum capacity a total amount of water. Each on-floor cooling unit is configured to cool air heated by a portion of the electronic equipment in the data center using water from the cooling water source. The total amount of water is insufficient to maintain a leaving air temperature of each on-floor cooling unit below an inside setpoint when a temperature outside of the data center is above a predetermined external temperature.
