摘要： Veins and other blood vessels may be reshaped by introducing an implant through the vessel walls with anchors positioned on opposite sides of the wall. The anchors typically include an elongate body having coils or other anchors formed therein. The implants may be delivered percutaneously using a cannula which can hold the anchor externally or internally. The methods and devices are useful in treating a dorsal vein to reduce blood flow in patients suffering from erectile dysfunction.

摘要： A system for magnetically suspending tissue includes a grasper placement tool, a tissue grasper, a magnetic coupling element, and a tether which secures the magnetic coupling element to the tissue grasper. The grasper placement tool is used to simultaneously introduce both the tissue grasper and the magnetic coupling element to a body cavity. The grasper then releases the magnetic coupling element and engages a target tissue structure. In some embodiments, the medical devices are stimulation leads which are implanted near a portion of the neural anatomy for providing stimulation thereto. To maintain position of the lead, the lead is anchored with the use of a tissue-captured anchor which is attached to the lead at a desired point of anchoring. The anchor maintains position of the lead by resisting movement of the anchor between tissue layers at the point of anchoring.

In some embodiments, the twist-grip anchor comprises a first support having a first lumen, a second support having a second lumen, and a sleeve having a first end fixedly attached to the first support and a second end fixedly attached to the second support, wherein the first and second supports and the sleeve are aligned to allow the passage of the elongate device through the first lumen, second lumen and sleeve, and wherein rotation of at least the first support twists the sleeve so that the sleeve engages the elongate device in a manner that resists movement of the elongate device in relation to the sleeve. The anchor is then attached to the tissue, such as by suturing.

摘要： Embodiments provide apparatus and methods for delivering liquid form medication within the body wherein the medication is stored in solid form and then mixed with a liquid in an apparatus implanted within the body. One embodiment provides an implantable apparatus for in vivo delivery of medication comprising a housing including a reservoir, a store of solid form medication (SSM) and a pump. An SSM element is added to the reservoir along with fluid to form a medication solution comprising at least one drug. The medication solution is then delivered to a delivery site using a pumping means to pump solution from the reservoir through a delivery member such as catheter to a delivery site. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for delivering medication to a patient to treat a medical condition over an extended period of time without requiring the patient to take external medication.
