    • A rotor arrangement for an electric machine comprises a rotor shaft and a rotor segment coupled to the rotor shaft. The rotor segment includes a main body and a collar integral with the main body. The collar includes an outer peripheral groove adjacent to the main body portion of the rotor segment. The rotor arrangement further includes a cooling fan that has a center opening defined by an inner perimeter. The center opening of the fan is configured to slidably engage the collar and is adjustable between an insertion diameter and a locking diameter. When the center opening is at the locking diameter, at least a portion of the inner perimeter of the fan extends into the outer peripheral groove in the collar such that the fan is retained on the rotor segment.

    • An electrical meter (10) comprises a housing (12) with a spool (14) rotatably mounted therein. A first lead cable (16) and a second lead cable (18) are wound upon the spool (14). A wound spring (90) is connected to the spool and biases the spool against rotation in a direction that allows the lead cables to be unwound. A first head (20) and a second head (22) are respectively included on the end of the first lead cable (16) and the second lead cable (18). The heads abut against the housing and prevent the lead cables from being completely wound upon the spool when the meter is not in use. A circuit board (30) with electrical measurement circuitry is also mounted within the housing (12). The circuit board is electrically connected to a display (40) positioned on the outside of the housing (12).

    • Rectangular conductor wires (38) are often used in alternator applications requiring a high slot fill to maximize output and efficiency. However for lower output and efficiency applications, round conductor (40) wire may increase cost competiveness in these alternators. A common lamination for a core (110) alternatively accommodates both rectangular conductor wires (38) and round conductor wires (40) for different applications without any other component changes. The lamina has a slot (112) that aligns round wire (40) in a single row within the slot and provides a predetermined clearance from the slot opening (126). A stator core (110) formed from these laminae has a relatively high slot fill factor when wound with the round wire (40). The same stator core (110) can be alternatively wound with square wire (38) to increase the slot fill factor even higher. The common lamination results in two stator configurations: a high slot fill version (round wire) and a very high slot fill version (square wire).
