摘要： A method and system for providing a terminally sterilized transdermal influenza vaccine delivery device. A microprojection member having a plurality of stratum corneum- piercing microprojections is coated with an influenza vaccine-formulation and exposed to sufficient radiation to sterilize the microprojection member while retaining sufficient potency of the influenza vaccine. Preferably, the microprojection member is sealed in packaging, such as a foil pouch. Also preferably, a retainer ring and adhesive are included within the packaging. The sterilizing radiation can be gamma radiation or e- beam, preferably delivered in a dose in the range of approximately 7 - 21 kGy. Also preferably, the irradiation is performed from -78.5 - 25°C. hi preferred embodiments, the radiation is delivered at a rate greater than 3.0 kGy/hr.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method of making a liposome composition. In particular, the invention relates to a method of making liposomes targeted to a specific cell receptor for delivery of a liposome-entrapped drug to the cell. In one embodiment, the process involves the incorporation of lipid-linkers to the surface of pre-formed liposomes, preferably at a higher temperature, followed by the conjugation of one or more temperature-sensitive ligands to the linkers associated with the liposome surface at a lower temperature to avoid deactivation of the temperature sensitive ligands. The present invention also is directed to a product prepared according to the foregoing process, and its use to treat subjects. The present invention is also directed to a kit containing lipid-linker, ligand and pre-formed liposome.

The method and device are used to improve transport of an agent across the skin for agent delivery or sampling. The preferred applicator (10, 60, 80) impacts the stratum corneum with the microprotrusion member (44) with an impact of at least 0.05 joules per cm 2 of the microprotrusion member (44) in 10 msec or less.
