摘要： A multi-lumen catheter (10) and method for inserting same in a patient is disclosed. The catheter (10) includes an elongated, central, multi-lumen tube portion (12) having a proximal end and a distal end. The central tube portion (12) has a substantially cylindrical outer shape and is internally segmented into a plurality of lumens. A distal branch portion includes a plurality of single-lumen distal extension tubes (18, 20). A proximal branch portion includes a plurality of single-lumen proximal extension tubes (14, 16). Each proximal extension tube (14, 16) has a distal first end and a proximal second end. The distal first end of each proximal extension tube (14, 16) is connected to the proximal end of the central tube portion (12) such that the single lumen of each distal extension tube (14, 16) is in fluid communication with one of the plurality of lumens of the central tube portion (12). Selectively attachable hub connectors (72, 74) are provided for selective attachment to the distal extension tubes (18, 20) and connection of the catheter (10) to a fluid exchange device.

摘要： A multi-lumen catheter (10) and method for inserting same into a patient is disclosed. The catheter may include a single-lumen flush tube portion (14), the flush tube portion having a proximal end being connected to the distal end of the catheter tube such that the single lumen of the flush tube is in fluid communication with each of the lumens of the catheter tube. A connector (12) is provided having a longitudinal cavity (22), a coupling portion (24) near the distal end of the connector, and is in fluid communication with the lumen or lumens in the catheter tube. The coupling portion (24) of the cavity of the connector is configured to receive a mating coupling portion of a medical device such as a trocar. The catheter device facilitates the subcutaneous tunneling of the catheter after catheter tip placement, and simultaneous fluid communication with all of the catheter lumens.

摘要： Percutaneous skin access devices (1) include a plurality of locked connecting units (30) mounted to the exterior surface of an implantable medical object which, in position, is configured to penetrate the skin of a subject. In position, the locked connecting units engage with soft tissue which can include the skin to form a bio-junction layer which includes mechanical and bio-sealing connection between the device body and the soft tissue. The configuration at the bio-junction layer secures the medical object in location in the subject even for long-term indwelling applications in a manner which inhibits soft tissue infection.

摘要： A new and improved tube or catheter for administrating or withdrawing a substance from the human body which can be temporarily attached to the tissue site. The catheter consists of a dual lumen, side-by-side, tube. One lumen is used to administer or withdraw a substance. The second lumen contains an attachment means consisting of a loop of filament extending beyond ends of the lumen in the second tube. During use the surgeon fixes a suture at the tissue site and ties the suture around the filament loop extentding from the distal end of the second tube. The surgeon then grasps the proximal end of the filament and slides the catheter over the filament and the suture until it rests against the tissue attachment site. The filament or suture is then tied around the proximal end of the tube to hold the catheter in place. To remove the catheter, the surgeon cuts the suture where tied to the proximal end of the tube, pulls off the catheter, and slides the suture out of the tissue.
