    • A method is described for trick mode playback, the method including selecting a key-frame in a recording substantially in the vicinity of a trick mode playback starting position, preparing a decryption key associated with a key period including the selected key-frame, sending the prepared decryption key to a descrambler, thereby enabling decryption of video beginning at the selected key-frame, sending a first number P seconds of decrypted video frames, starting at the selected key-frame, at a predetermined speed for a predetermined number of seconds, to a video decoder, in parallel to the sending P seconds of video frames, choosing at least a second video section to stream to the video decoder, sending a decryption key associated with the chosen second video section to the descrambler, and repeating the steps of selecting, preparing, sending the prepared decryption key, and sending a first number P seconds of decrypted video frames.     • An incoming data stream contains a stream of encrypted data and a stream of messages. Data in successive segments of the stream of encrypted data is decryptable with successive decryption information from the messages. The stream of encrypted data is stored and items with decryption information from the stream of messages are stored. Synchronization information is stored that links respective points in the stored stream of encrypted data to respective ones of the items with decryption information. The synchronization is stored so that it is retrievable independent of the stream. During trick replay a stored part of the stream of encrypted data is replayed in an abnormal temporal pattern. The items with decryption information are retrieved for the points in said stored part during said replaying. The retrieved items are combined with decryption information of the stream during replay at times selected under control of the synchronization information, the items which are combined being selected and/or a time when the items are combined with the stream being selected, dependent on the synchronization information and the abnormal temporal pattern.

    • A security system using an optical information recording medium can simultaneously read ROM-RAM information. The security system can receive data from an optical information recording medium including a by-stage symbol recording area for recording an identification symbol for identifying the medium, an ROM area for recording plain text data, and a magneto-optical recording film formed at an area corresponding to the ROM area for recording encrypted data of the plain data encrypted. There is provided a recording medium containing a decryption program for decrypting the encrypted data. The recording medium includes a reception unit for receiving the encrypted data according to a data transmission request in accordance with the identification symbol identifying the optical information recording medium, a recording unit for recording the encrypted data received by the reception unit onto the recording medium, and a decryption unit for decrypting the encrypted data recorded on the recording medium by using the aforementioned decryption program.
