    • An air-bag arrangement comprising an air-bag (26), a gas generator (24) and a housing (20). The air-bag is initially in a folded condition and is located adjacent the gas generator. The folded air-bag is stored within the housing. The interior of the air-bag is in gas flow communication (3) with the gas generator. The gas generator incorporates a valve (2) constitued by a rotatable cylindrical diffuser which surrounds the gas generator (24). The valve presents an aperture (4) which in an initial position of the valve permits gas from the gas generator to flow through a flow passage (23) to the exterior of the housing. On partial inflation of the air-bag tension is applied to a strap (6) which has one end (7) secured to the tube (2) and the other end (10) secured to part of the air-bag. On rotation of the tube (2) as a consequence of the force applied to it by the strap (6) during inflation of the air-bag, the tube (2) is rotated thus closing, or at least partlyclosing, the flow passage (23) to the exterior of the housing.

    • A vehicle (10) has an upper front interior corner (28) and at least one seating position for a vehicle occupant (6). An air bag assembly (40) includes an inflator (42) for generating gas; and an air bag (44) deployable upon generation of gas by the inflator (42). The air bag (44) is stored in the upper front interior corner (28) of the vehicle (10), and the air bag (44) is a single integral air bag (44) having a frontal portion (54) and a side portion (50). The frontal portion (54) and the side portion (50) are in fluid communication with each other. Upon air bag deployment, the frontal portion (54) deploys downwardly and in front of the vehicle occupant and the side portion deploys downwardly and to the side of the vehicle occupant (6) such that the air bag (44) wraps around the occupant (6) during deployment. Preferably, the frontal portion (54) and the side portion (50) are generally 90 degrees relative to each other. Also preferably, the vehicle (10) has air bag assemblies (40) in opposite front upper interior corners (28) that are mirror images of each other for commonizations of parts.
