    • The invention relates to a method of implementing transceiver operation at a base station, in which method a power amplifier amplifies signals to be transmitted, and a first receiver amplifier (404) amplifies signals received. In the method, at least two transmitter units (300, 302) in different sectors transmit signals at different frequencies to the same multifrequency amplifier (306) acting as the power amplifier; the signals amplified by the multifrequency amplifier are transmitted by a separate cable (307) from the multifrequency amplifier to a filter structure (200); the filter structure (200) filters at least two signals to be transmitted at different frequencies; sector-specific antennas (318, 320) transmit the signals to be transmitted at different frequencies, and receive the signals to be received at different frequencies; the filter structure (200) filters the at least two signals received at different frequencies; the received signals are further filtered with a filter unit (400) and the filtered received signals are transmitted along a separate cable (307) from the filter structure (200) via the filter unit (400) to the same first receiver amplifier (404) that amplifies said signals, whereupon the signals received from the different sectors are transmitted to sector-specific receiver amplifiers (306, 308).

    • An electronic amplifying apparatus intended for sound reproduction and for music instrument amplification wherein two parallel amplifiers (V5-V8), working simultaneously, each in a different class of operation, are fed from a single driver or signal source (V1-V4) and whose outputs are combined. In the preferred embodiment at least two pairs of pushpull vacuum tubes are required and they are arranged so that one pair (V5, V6) operates Triode Class A while the other pair (V7, V8) (or pairs) operates Pentode Class AB (or Class B). The circuit can then be optimized so that the desirable sonic characteristics of Class A Triode operation are imparted into the Class AB (or Class B) Pentodes which actually produce all or nearly all of the power. The output power waveform has the high power and efficiency typical of Class AB (or Class B) Pentode operation but without the detrimental sonic side effects, namely, there is the complete absence of crossover or "notch" distortion, and there is a "soft" gradual onset of clip. On/Off switch (70) may further be employed to add flexibility to the sytem with regard to power availability and sonic performance.
