The phase rotation circuit is arranged to provide to the channel output a phase-shifted analog output signal generated from the downconverted in-phase signal and the downconverted quadrature signal.

    • Provided is a simultaneous radio detection and bearing system (100). More specifically, the radio detection and bearing system (100) includes an RF conditioning subsystem (152) having a plurality of First Frequency Range and Second Frequency Range signal receiving channels. The RF conditioning subsystem (152) operable to combine First Frequency Range and Second Frequency Range signals as a first internal data stream (304). A coherent multi-channel digitizer subsystem (154) is coupled to the RF conditioning system (152), the coherent multi-channel digitizer subsystem (154) operable to generate a time domain snapshot (600) of the first internal data stream (304). An audio recording subsystem (156) is also coupled to the RF conditioning subsystem (152). A processor (158) is coupled to the coherent multi-channel digitizer subsystem (154) and the audio recording subsystem (156). The processor (158) is operable to transform the time domain snapshot (600) to a frequency spectrum (604) and identify at least one signal (608) above a threshold (606) at a determined frequency, determine the bearing (908) of the signal (608), and provide the determined frequency to the audio recording subsystem (156). The audio subsystem (156) contemporaneously records the signal (608) upon the determined frequency. An associated method (500) of radio detection and bearing determination is also provided.

The audio subsystem (156) contemporaneously records the signal (608) upon the determined frequency. An associated method (500) of radio detection and bearing determination is also provided.

    • An electronic scanning radio direction finding system (1) for accurate direction finding of radio frequency signals using singly or doubly flared cylindrical reflectors (2) surrounded by a circular array of inwardly facing feed horns (9). The array is operated as a phased array to determine the direction of origin of received signals. The feed horns (9) can also be used to transmit RF signals on very narrowly controlled beams with minimal side lobes. The flared cylindrical reflector (2) and its circular feed horn array may be paired with circular log periodic arrays operable at similar frequency ranges or different frequency ranges to provide more precise direction finding and direction finding of signals at frequencies beyond the range of the flared cylindrical reflector (2) and its circular feed horn array (9).
