摘要： The invention relates to a method for withdrawing blood from an extracorporeal circulation (2000) and/or a functional device (1000) which are connected or can be connected to a blood treatment device for treating the blood of a patient after completing a blood treatment session. Said blood treatment device comprises or is connected to at least one extracorporeal circulation (2000) having a line interior, and said extracorporeal circulation (2000) has at least one arterial line section (1) and at least one venous line section (3); at least one blood pump (4000) for transporting blood inside the line interior. Said method consists of the following steps: the blood pump (4000) is operated in a second direction of transport counter to the common first direction of transport during the blood treatment, a first section of the arterial line section (1) being connected to or is a second section of the venous line section (3) of the extracorporeal circulation (2000). The invention also relates to corresponding devices.

An electronic controller manages the various aspects of the system and executes an automated method for priming the extracorporeal circuit.

摘要： A capacitive fluid level sensing arrangement for use in a medical device is provided. The arrangement includes at least one pair of conductive plates configured to increase and decrease the amount of electric charge stored in relation to the level of fluid within a fluid maintaining device, such as a reservoir. The conductive plates are electrically connected to a medical device and are configured to measure the charge stored between the plates and thus sense the fluid level. The electric circuit may communicate the measurement to an instrument host arrangement for operating a pump configured to remove fluid from the reservoir and move the fluid to a collector when the level exceeds a preset upper level amount. The instrument host arrangement may stop operating the pump when the fluid level is reduced to a preset lower level amount.

摘要： A chamber is described for use in an extracorporeal fluid system. The chamber has a bottom entry port and a bottom exit port. A microporous filter at the top of the chamber allows air in the fluid to vent from the chamber. In use, the chamber is filled with saline. Blood is then introduced into the chamber. A layer of saline is above a layer of blood in the chamber. The saline stagnates as the blood flows through the chamber. The saline keeps the blood from contacting the filter and depositing protein on the filter.
