摘要： An aspect of the present disclosure provides a piercing device for use with an inhalation device, the piercing device including: at least one perforator; a plurality of passages defined along said at least one perforator; and at least one heating mechanism incorporated into said at least one perforator, wherein docking of said piercing device with the inhalation device holding a reservoir allows said at least one perforator to access content of the reservoir, and wherein activation of said at least one heating mechanism allows generation of vapors from the content of the reservoir to be carried through at least one of said plurality of passages to a user.

摘要： An airtrap for a medical or physiological fluid in one embodiment includes a conical housing having a radius that increases from its top to its bottom when the housing is positioned for operation; a medical or physiological fluid inlet located at an upper portion of the conical housing; a medical or physiological fluid outlet located at a lower portion of the conical housing, the inlet and the outlet positioned and arranged so that medical or physiological fluid spirals in an increasing arc around an inside of the conical housing downwardly from the inlet to the outlet; and a gas collection area located at an upper portion of the conical housing. In another embodiment, the airtrap is shaped like a seahorse having a head section and a tail section. Any of the airtraps herein may be used for example in blood sets, peritoneal dialysis cassette tubing, and drug delivery sets.

摘要： An aerosol generating apparatus with interchangeable parts is disclosed. The aerosol generating apparatus includes a holder for accommodating a structure plate and an oscillation generator. The structure plate includes an inlet surface, an outlet surface, a projection extending from the face of the inlet surface, and a through hole. The through hole penetrates the structure plate. The oscillation generator is coupled with and vibrates the structure plate. A reservoir for providing a liquid medicament is also disclosed. The reservoir is detachably engaged with the holder and includes a membrane with a plurality of orifices. During aerosolization, the liquid medicament passes through the plurality of orifices. When the reservoir is engaged with the holder, the membrane of the reservoir is in contact with the projection extending from the face of the inlet surface. In addition, the oscillation generator vibrates the membrane through the projection on the inlet surface. As such, the liquid medicament aerosolizes and ejects via the outlet surface of the structure plate.

摘要： A therapeutic product delivery device is described which comprises a device body and a cartridge for holding a therapeutic product. An engagement structure is provided for releasably engaging the cartridge with the device body. A fault detector is provided for detecting a fault in the delivery of the therapeutic product from the cartridge. A release trigger is responsive to the detection of a fault to cause the engagement structure to release the cartridge from the device body. In this way, a fault causes the cartridge to be released from the device body, which will prevent any further delivery of the therapeutic product to the patient. This solution is strongly preferable to a solution in which a product delivery mechanism (e.g. a pump) is merely paused or stopped, since when the cartridge separates then no further delivery is possible at all, until the cartridge is reattached (or more probably replaced with a new cartridge in case the fault is with the cartridge).
