摘要： A communication device generates a first data unit that spans a first bandwidth, and transmits the first data unit during a transmit opportunity (TXOP) to at least one other communication device. The communication device subsequently determines, based on respective values of TXOP duration fields included in respective physical layer (PHY) preambles of one or more data units previously transmitted during the TXOP, whether a second bandwidth of a second data unit to be transmitted by the communication device during the TXOP can be greater than the first bandwidth of the first data unit. In response to determining that the second bandwidth of the second data unit can be greater than the first bandwidth of the first data unit, the communication device generates the second data unit to span the second bandwidth greater than the first bandwidth, and transmits the second data unit during the TXOP.

摘要： Systems and methods for estimating characteristics of a channel are provided. A transmission of known reference data is received at a receiving device. The reference data is transmitted over the channel that includes one or more desired layers and one or more interfering layers. Characteristics of the channel are determined based on the known reference data, where the determining includes a joint estimation of the one or more desired layers and the one or more interfering layers. The determining includes selecting certain of the layers to be estimated at each of the known reference data and selecting certain of the layers to be estimated over a range of the known reference data. The determining includes solving an equation to jointly estimate the one or more desired layers and the one or more interfering layers based on the selections. The selections reduce a number of unknown values in the equation.

A described technique includes sensing a group of channels for a channel contention operation that acquires two or more channels of the group of channels and detects a busy channel of the group of channels; determining a channel bonding indicator based on the channel contention operation; generating a preamble portion of a frame that includes the channel bonding indicator; generating a data portion of the frame, and transmitting the frame to one or more devices. Generating the preamble portion can include duplicating a legacy preamble on each of the acquired channels within the preamble portion. Generating the data portion can include setting first subcarriers that correspond to the acquired channels to data values, and setting second subcarriers that correspond to the busy channel to null values for at least a portion of the data portion of the frame.

摘要： As part of a beamforming training procedure, a first communication device transmits a beamforming training packet. The first device then receives a plurality of respective beamforming feedback packets from a plurality of second communication devices. The first device then uses the plurality of beamforming feedback packets to select a group of multiple communication devices from among the plurality of second communication devices, wherein the group is selected for simultaneous transmissions to the first communication device. The first device then transmits a synchronization signal to the group to prompt second communication devices in the group to simultaneously transmit to the first communication device at a particular time. The first device then receives simultaneous transmissions from the group responsive to the synchronization signal.
