摘要： Methods and devices for treating a blockage in the coronary arterial system are provided. Some blockages in the coronary arterial system restrict the blood flow to a portion of the heart, causing ischemia or infarction. Such blockages may be treated by displacing, removing and/or breaking up the blockage, which allows blood to reperfuse into the infarcted portion of the heart. Before, during, and/or after the reperfusion, cardioprotective pacing is provided to the heart. The devices have multiple electrodes in order to provide multiple locations at which the cardioprotective pacing may be delivered. The devices are adapted to deliver cardioprotective pacing to the heart via the electrode that results in a relatively high level of dyssynchrony of the heart.

摘要： Systems and methods for temporarily pacing a patient's heart are provided. One system includes a vascular treatment system having a vascular access system and a therapy system. The therapy system includes an indeflator and an elongate medical device and the elongate medical device has an inflatable member and an electrode. The indeflator is adapted to provide pressurized fluid to the inflatable member and electrical signals to the electrode, with its operation manually or automatically controlled. Devices for electrically and fluidly coupling the indeflator and the elongate medical device are also provided.

The wireless probe includes a capacitor that is charged when the IMD emits an appropriate electromagnetic field from the transceiver antenna lead. A second electrode is located on the lead body distal to, and spaced apart from, the first electrode and is arranged to provide sensing or stimulation to the distinct, second myocardial contact area. In an example, the lead assembly includes a second preformed biased portion at the distal end of the lead body. In another example, the lead assembly includes additional electrodes.

摘要： This disclosure describes techniques for controlling a depth of propagation of a stimulation field extending from an outer diameter of a lead body of an implantable stimulation lead. An implantable electrical stimulation lead may include a lead body, and at least one electrode arranged as a ring. An outer diameter of the ring may be different than an outer diameter of the lead body. A ring with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the lead body may be useful in limiting the depth of propagation of the stimulation field within patient tissue. A ring with a diameter greater than the diameter of the lead body may be useful in extending the depth of propagation of the stimulation field.

摘要： A medical system comprises a plurality of electrodes; at least one sensor configured to output at least one signal based on at least one physiological parameter of a patient; and a processor. The processor is configured to control delivery of stimulation to the patient using a plurality of electrode configurations. Each of the electrode configurations comprises at least one of the plurality of electrodes. For each of the electrode configurations, the processor is configured to determine a first response of target tissue to the stimulation based on the signals, and a second response of non-target tissue to the stimulation based on the signals. The processor is also configured to select at least one of the electrode configurations for delivery of stimulation to the patient based on the first and second responses for the electrode configurations. As examples, the target tissue may be a left ventricle or vagus nerve.

摘要： A medical electrical lead configured for use in stimulating the left side of the heart (i.e., the left ventricle). In one embodiment, the lead includes an elongate lead body including an inner surface. An inflatable member is disposed on the outer surface of the body between its proximal and distal ends, the inflatable member being adapted when inflated to impart a radial force on and frictionally engage a surface of the coronary sinus or coronary vein for fixation of the distal end of the lead therein. The lead further includes a conductive member extending from the proximal end toward the distal end, and an inner insulating layer positioned between the conductive member and the inner surface of the body. Separation between the inner insulating layer and the inner surface of the body defines an inflation lumen in fluid communication with the inflatable member.
