摘要： Disclosed is a method of polymerizing olefin using a compatible combination of a multi-site catalyst and a single-site catalyst. The catalysts may be a Ziegler-Natta catalyst and a metallocene catalyst. The resulting polymer, which may be a homopolymer or a random copolymer, may exhibit a molecular weight distribution which is intermediate than that resulting for polymers prepared using either catalyst alone.

摘要： It has been discovered that the properties of sheet or film materials or structures can be improved by co-extruding a rubber-impact modified heterophasic copolymer core layer with at least a second polyolefin. The second polyolefin may be a Ziegler-Natta catalyzed polyethylene (ZN PE), Ziegler-Natta catalyzed polypropylene random copolymer (ZN PP RCP), a metallocene catalyzed polypropylene random copolymer (mPP RCP), a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and/or a metallocene catalyzed medium density polyethylene (mMDPE). Improvements include, but are not necessarily limited to, reduced haze and increased gloss. These sheet or film materials may be co-extruded with other resins or laminated with other materials after extrusion.

The articles are prepared using an isotactic propylene-ethylene random copolymer resin having an ethylene content of from about 0.5 to about 3 percent by total weight of copolymer, with a xylene solubles content of less than about 1.5 percent. The injection molded article may exhibit less than about 20 percent haze, as determined by ASTM D1003, at a thickness of about 0.08 inch (2.03 mm). Articles may also be prepared from similar copolymers having an ethylene content greater than about 3 percent by total weight of copolymer, with a xylene solubles content of less than about 4 percent by total weight of copolymer. These articles may exhibit less than about 13 percent haze, as determined by ASTM D1003, at a thickness of about 0.08 inch (2.03 mm).

摘要： A method is provided for casting a film of syndiotactic propylene polymer (sPP) at a film line speed of from about 35 to about 200 feet per minute. The sPP provided may include a peak melt temperature of from about 120 to about 140 degrees Celsius. A processing aid may be added to the sPP prior to casting the sPP film. The casting temperature of the method provided may be maintained at less than about 430 degrees Fahrenheit. The method provided includes a cast roll that forms the sPP film and that may be maintained at a temperature of from about 50 to about 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The coefficient of friction of the sPP film provided may be less than about 1.0. The maximum tensile strength of the sPP film provided may be at least about 4,200 pounds per square inch.
