摘要： A sliding window assembly The present invention provides sliding window assembly (1) comprising a sliding element (5), a ventilation panel (6), a support frame (3) and a secondary frame (7). The sliding element (5) is slidably mounted in the support frame (3) such that it can translate between a first position and a second position, and any position there between. The ventilation panel (6) is configured to extend across an opening aperture defined by the support frame (3) and restrict access via the opening aperture, the opening aperture being formed as the sliding element (7) is translated from the first position to the second position so as to allow air flow through the opening aperture. The secondary frame (7) is pivotally mounted within the sliding window assembly (1) to rotate about a substantially horizontal axis such that it can pivot between a closed position and a fully open position and any position there between, whereby in the fully open position the secondary frame (7) is configured to allow access to an interior region of the window assembly (1) and/or the sliding element (5). The present invention also provides a method of obtaining access to a restricted area within a sliding window assembly (1) according to the invention.

摘要： A barrier for the inside of a home. The barrier includes two partitions that slide relative to each other to increase and decrease a distance between ends of the barrier. The partitions slide into and out of confronting relationships with each other. The partitions engage each other at upper and lower locations and further at a medial location where an elongate member of one partition is received in a tube engaged to the other partition. A threaded piece upon being turned brings pressure to bear upon an end of the tube such that the partitions can be incrementally expanded apart and thereby pressurized between two locations within the home so as to block off one portion of the home. 摘要： A child safety barrier with a door secured in a U-shaped frame has a locking device which cannot be operated by children. The locking device has an activation unit which, when receiving a signal from a signal generator, releases the locking device so that the door may be opened or closed, which, in one embodiment, must take place within 2-4 seconds of the point of time when the signal generator is activated. The activation device may be formed by a mechanical activation mechanism, while the signal generator may be a push-button, an electric voltage or a remote control using a connection of the type IR, Bluetooth or the like. In a preferred embodiment, the activation device is connected with a push/pull rod whose one end is connected with a relay, while its other end is connected with a movable post extending inside a column in the U-shaped frame to which the door is secured. The invention provides a child safety barrier having a locking device where the locking device of the child safety barrier may be opened without using hands, feet and/or legs.
