摘要： A connector is provided for the electrical and mechanical connection of components of a system. The connector includes plug and receptacle components. The plug has a central pin surrounded by a plurality of lamellae. An actuator is positioned about the lamellae for controlling the movement thereof. The receptacle has a pin housing corresponding to the central pin of the plug. Additionally, the receptacle includes a plurality of lamellae for mating with the plug lamellae. Like the plug, the receptacle includes an actuator for controlling movement of the receptacle lamellae. The plug lamellae and the receptacle lamellae have corresponding shoulders at the free ends thereof for engagement for interconnecting the plug and the receptacle. The actuators about the plug lamellae and receptacle lamellae control movement thereof and can be engaged to allow for the disconnection of the plug and the receptacle. The central pin of the plug and the pin housing of the receptacle can include conductive material for transmitting electrical signals. Similarly, the lamellae can include conductive materials for engagement and transmission of electric signals. In another embodiment, the plug and receptacle are positioned side by side to provide a universal connector.

摘要： An electrical plug device (10) is disclosed for establishing an electrical connection when the device is inserted within an electrical outlet socket. The device include a housing (12) and a first blade (14) which extends from the housing for establishing a first electrical connection with the outlet socket. A second blade (16) is electrically insulated from the first blade with the second blade extending from the housing for establishing a second electrical connection with the outlet socket. A biasing (18) device co-operates with at least one of the blades for biasing the first and second blades relative to each other such that the blades establish an interference fit within the outlet socket so that inadvertent removal of the blades from within the outlet socket is inhibited. A manual release (20) is connected to at least one of the blades for selectively counteracting the biasing device such that when the release is in a first disposition thereof, the blades are locked within the outlet socket and when the release is in a second disposition thereof the blades are released from engagement with the outlet socket so that removal of the plug device from the outlet socket is permitted.

摘要： An electrical connector and system for connecting to a terminal post. The electrical connector includes a housing body, a contact and a locking release member. The housing body includes a post receiving passage for receiving the terminal post therein. The contact is provided in the post receiving passage and is positioned about the circumference of the post receiving passage. The contact will make an electrical engagement with a terminal post inserted into the post receiving passage regardless of the orientation of the terminal post with respect to the contact. The electrical connector which prevents the improper mating of the connector to the post, prevents unwanted rotation of the connector, provides a visual indication that the proper connection is secured and provides a secondary lock to ensure that unwanted unmating of the connector does not occur.
