    • An adapter assembly for connecting a medication bottle to a needleless syringe, particularly a luer-lock syringe, is provided. The bottle adapter includes a cylindrically- shaped main body. Multiple annular fins project outwardly from the main body for engaging and gripping the interior surfaces of the bottle. This close interference fitting between the adapter and bottle provides a tight and effective seal. The adapter is particularly suitable for connecting a bottle containing a drug in solid form, such as a powdered drug, to a syringe containing a liquid carrier. The syringe is inserted into the adapter and liquid is injected into the bottle. The liquid mixes with the powdered drug to form a drug solution. The bottle adapter can be used in a wide variety of medical, dental, pharmaceutical, and other healthcare applications.

    • A disposable receptacle is connected to a suction system and includes a sealed liner with a lid and a pour spout. A waste treating reservoir includes a closed container with an open mouth for storring a waste treating agent. A cylindrical wall forms a diffuser cap. A closed end portion has a plurality of apertures opening radially through the cylindrical wall. An open end portion fits telescopically over the open mouth of the agent container. A double-walled sleeve has an inner wall and a generally concentric outer wall for attaching the combined diffuser cap and agent container to the spout of the disposable receptacle lid. The inside surface of the inner wall of the sleeve sealingly covers the radially opening apertures in the diffuser cap when the cap is in a first position relative to the sleeve. The diffuser cap is slidable to a second position in the double-walled sleeve. At the second position, the radial opening apertures are moved axially beyond the inside surface of the inner wall of the sleeve. This allows an open passageway for the waste treating agent to flow from the reservoir to the chamber of the disposable receptacle. The reservoir is configured so the system can be set up prior to the surgical procedure and can be readily activated immediately after the surgical procedure so that hazardous waste can be treated promptly and efficiently.
