    • The projector (11) of the present invention provides a device for interactively displaying and annotating a document (13) image at two separate locations. The projector consists of an image plate (39) having an array of picture elements for displaying the image; a projection mechanism for projecting the image displayed by the image plate onto a projection screen (49); and a digitizer (41) having a coordinate input array which corresponds to the array of picture elements of the image plate, wherein the image displayed by the image plate changes in response to coordinate inputs to the digitizer. A method for interactively annotating an image communicated between a remote and a local image includes the procedure of simultaneously transmitting to the remote projector, annotations made to an image in the local projector.

    • A method is disclosed for maintaining loop stability between a transmit and a receive path of a speaker phone which is capable of operating in either a full-duplex or a half-duplex mode. Loop stability is maintained and normal operation is achieved by controlling transmit and receive path attenuators. The method first determines whether feedforward or feedback signals levels should be used (76). Based on this determination, the signal and noise parameters along various points in the transmit and receive path are evaluated (78, 80). Based on the parameter values (82), the transmit and receive attenuators are adjusted to maintain loop stability and to operate the speaker phone in the proper state (84, 75).

    • An integrated videoconferencing system has a credenza that houses three displays at predefined angles with respect to one another. A table positions in from the credenza for seating participants across from the credenza's displays. The table has three seating sections that are angled at another predefined angle with respect to one another. Three cameras are positioned in the top of the credenza, and each has a view angle directed perpendicularly at one of the seating sections. The table can also have a portion that interconnects with the credenza. In use, the integrated system allows the participants to conduct a telepresence videoconference in which the near-end participants can interact with the far-end participants as if they were all seated at the same conference table in the room together.
