摘要： The present subject matter is directed to an apparatus and methodology for recording, at a central data center, telephone conversations originating from remote locations. The present subject matter has particular utility to the penal (corrections) environment in that it discloses a methodology for recording and storing voice and related data at a central data center remote from either the origination or destination locations of a telephone call placed by an inmate in a prison or other facility. The disclosed technology permits storage of both voice and call related data at a remote facility in such a manner that the data is searchably accessible by authorized personnel at other remote locations by way of network or Internet connection to the central data center.

摘要： The present invention provides systems, methods, and apparatus for semi-stateless scalable and distributed management of telephone hunt group features in a PBX. In particular, the invention conducts an auction-like phone call handling process in which phone handling decisions are partially delegated from a central resource to the individual client agents. Briefly, phone handling functions offer available call to agents who then decide which available calls to handle. This auction-like process is preferably implemented using broadcast (or multicast) messaging features so that system components do not need to know or access global state information. Messaging is preferably built on a selected instant messaging protocol.

摘要： In accordance with one aspect of the invention there is provided a process for handling emergency calls from a caller in a voice over IP system. The process involves receiving a routing request message including a caller identifier and a callee identifier. The process also involves setting an emergency call flag active in response to the callee identifier matching an emergency call identifier pre-associated with the caller. The process further involves producing an emergency response center identifier in response to the emergency call identifier. The process also involves determining whether the caller identifier is associated with a pre-associated direct inward dialing (DID) identifier. The process further involves producing a direct inward dialing (DID) identifier for the caller by associating a temporary DID identifier with the caller identifier when the emergency call flag is active and it is determined that the caller has no pre-associated DID. The process also involves producing a routing message including the emergency response center identifier and the temporary DID identifier for receipt by a routing controller operable to cause a route to be established between the caller and the emergency response center.

摘要： A process and apparatus to facilitate communication between callers and callees in a system comprising a plurality of nodes with which callers and callees are associated is disclosed. In response to initiation of a call by a calling subscriber, a caller identifier and a callee identifier are received. Call classification criteria associated with the caller identifier are used to classify the call as a public network call or a private network call. A routing message identifying an address, on the private network, associated with the callee is produced when the call is classified as a private network call and a routing message identifying a gateway to the public network is produced when the call is classified as a public network call.

摘要： The present invention allows mobile terminals to initiate calls to either PSTN or non-PSTN addresses through a cellular interface. In operation, the mobile terminal will determine a terminating address to which a call is to be initiated based on user input or selection. The mobile terminal will then determine whether the terminating address should be used to directly initiate a call through the cellular interface. When the terminating address should be used to directly initiate the call, the mobile terminal will directly initiate the call using the terminating address. When the terminating address should not be used to directly initiate the call, the mobile terminal will send the terminating address to a service node. The service node will then initiate an indirect call process using the terminating address to establish the call between an endpoint associated with the terminating address and the cellular interface of the mobile terminal.

摘要： A method and system for creating a virtual roaming solution for a MSISDN using a softphone over an IP network. The system involves (i) implementation of a novel virtual mobile network (VMN) comprising virtual visitor location register (vVLR), virtual home location register (vHLR) and virtual multiple switching centre (vMSC) on an IP server responsible for managing IP call traffic administration, and (ii) implementation of a novel mobile to internet gateway (MIG) comprising an VoIP gateway for diverting call traffic from the mobile network to the IP network, and an IP server with vMSC functionality to translate routing information from the VMN to GSM network so as to appear to the GSM network as a traditional mobile operator. The system dynamically registers the subscriber to the IP network, and provides valid routing information to the MSC (Mobile Switching Centre) or public telephone switch to route the call over to the NGN (next generation network) operator in the IP space.
