摘要： A composite material is disclosed, made from paper or cardboard as support material (1) with a plastic coating, in particular for light-, gas- and liquid-tight heat-sealing packagings, whereby the plastic coatings each have external sealing layers (3) and a barrier layer (2) made from metal is arranged between the support material layer (1) and a sealing layer (3). The invention also relates to a method for production thereof. According to the invention, the support material layer (1) is protected in the composite material such that a packaging, made therefrom with the product therein, may be sterilised in an autoclave or similar and said composite material may be simply and economically produced, whereby a further barrier layer (2) is provided on the other side of the support material layer (1).

It can be processed while preventing cracks in the sheet of paper without wetting the sheet of paper with water, so that it is possible to keep a design quality of paper over a long term. Further, the paper laminated metal sheet possesses adequate strength and workability of metal, and provides an excellent design quality which cannot normally be expected of a metal sheet, so that it is useful as a new material applicable to various fields.

The panel is a stiff, lightweight substitute for thicker metals and may replace light metal sheets such as aluminum with a composite in which the metal skins comprise sheets from heavier metals such as steel. The paper core (20, 36, 56) is adhesively bonded to the metal skins and may have openings (62) to create paths for adhesive bridges (64) between the metal skins (22, 32, 40, 52, 60) to minimize failure caused by buckling.

摘要： Sheet materials according to the present invention comprise a sheet material substrate, such as for example a film or paper sheet, with a polymer base coating overlying and adhered to a surface of the sheet material substrate. The base coating comprises a radiation cured crosslinked polymer derived from at least one vapor deposited acrylate prepolymer composition having a molecular weight in the range of from about 150 to 600. A metal layer is deposited on and overlies a surface of the base coating, and a polymer top coating overlies and is adhered to a surface of the metal layer. The top coating comprises a radiation cured crosslinked polymer derived from a vapor deposited acrylate prepolymer composition having a molecular weight in the range of from about 150 to 600 and a ratio of its molecular weight to its number of acrylate groups (MW/Ac) in the range of from about 150 to 600. According to one embodiment of the invention, metallized paper sheet materials are produced with superior appearance and performance characteristics which can be tailored to specific end use applications. For example, the metallized paper can be produced with a very shiny, high gloss surface appearance, and/or a high quality metallized layer free of defects or pinholes, and/or an outer surface which is highly receptive to printing.
