摘要： Polyisocyanurate or polyurethane-isocyanurate polymers are made by curing an aromatic polyisocyanate or a mixture of at least one aromatic polyisocyanate and at least one polyol having a hydroxyl equivalent weight of up to 200 in which the isocyanate index is at least 2.00, in the presence of at least one isocyanate trimerization catalyst, to form a polyisocyanurate or polyurethane-isocyanurate polymer having a glass transition temperature of at least 100°C, and then exposing the polyisocyanurate or polyurethane- isocyanurate polymer formed step a) to water under superatmospheric pressure at a temperature of at least 70°C.

摘要： A method for producing a vegetable oil-derived polyol having increased hydroxyl functionality by reacting a vegetable oil with an oxidizing agent in the presence of an organometallic catalyst is provided. The resulting higher functionality polyols derived from vegetable oil produced by the process are also provided. Also provided is a method for decreasing the acid value of a vegetable oil-derived polyol by reacting the vegetable oil-derived polyol with an epoxide component in the presence of a Lewis base catalyst. Urethane products produced using higher functional vegetable oil-derived polyols and/or lower acid vegetable oil-derived polyols are also provided.

摘要： A process for the preparation of fiber reinforced composites in which the matrix polymer is derived from the catalyzed reaction of a liquid polyisocyanate containing material. The principle curing mechanism is the formation of urethane and/or isocyanurate linkages. At least a portion of the catalyst is applied onto the surface of the reinforcing fibers and/or onto the surface to the uncured resin impregnated reinforcing structure, under conditions such that the catalyst is not dispersed into the bulk of the isocyanate containing resin until cure. Curing is facilitated by a combination of mechanical and thermal action. The process is particularly well suited for the preparation of composites by pultrusion, using a one-component open-bath pultrusion machine. The process of the invention may be adapted to a much wider range of composite fabrication methods, including SMC and filament winding.

The composition includes mixture of: (a) a mono C2-C6 alkyl phosphate; (b) a di C2-C6 alkyl phosphate, wherein the alkyl groups of the di-alkyl phosphate may be the same or different, and wherein the alkyl groups of the mono- and di-alkyl phosphate may be the same or different; and (c) a C7-C18 mono- and/or di-alkyl phosphate. Also disclosed is a polymerizable composition which includes (a) one or more monomers containing two or more isocyanate groups; (b) one ore more monomers containing two or more functional groups selected from a thiol group and a hydroxyl group; (c) a mixture of a mono- C2-C6 alkyl phosphate and a di- C2-C6 alkyl phosphate, wherein the alkyl groups of the di-alkyl phosphate may be the same or different and wherein the alkyl groups of the mono- and di-alkyl phosphate mixture may be the same or different, wherein the mono- C2-C6 alkyl phosphate is present in an amount of >/= 20 wt.%, based on the total weight of the mixture of the mono- C2-C6 alkyl phosphate and the di- C2-C6 alkyl phosphate.
