摘要： Disclosed herein is a system and method for determining the presence of rotated-BPSK modulation. In addition, disclosed herein is a system and method for determining if a received packet (502) is a Legacy (516), Mixed-Mode (520), or Green-Field packet (510) in accordance with the determination of the presence of rotated-BPSK modulation. The presence of a Green- Field packet may be determined by detecting if additional tones are being excited in an LTF symbol of the received packet and/or if a SIG field symbol following the LTF symbol is modulated by rotated-BPSK. The presence of a Mixed-Mode packet may be determined by detecting if the first four bits of the SIG field symbol following the LTF symbol are [1 1 0 1] (514) and/or detecting if a symbol following an L-SIG symbol is modulated by rotated-BPSK (518). The presence of a Legacy packet may be determined by detecting if the symbol following the L-SIG symbol is modulated by BPSK.

摘要： Methods and apparatus for routing data in a mesh network (10) based on quality of service (QoS) are provided. A wireless device (16) includes a component (32) operable to obtain metrics related to one or more directly adjacent links in the mesh network and metrics received from one or more other nodes in the mesh network. The component is operable to apply parameters that include weighting to one or more of the metrics to compute one or more routes for routing data. The wireless device also includes a transmitter that is operable to propagate to one or more adjacent nodes in the mesh network routing information related to the parameterized metrics obtained by the component.

摘要： In described examples, a networking device includes a transmitter that is arranged to transmit a data packet (300) to a receiver. The data packet (300) includes a data packet header (306). A packet header protection generator is arranged to toggle selected bits of the protected portion of the data packet header (306) and to generate a data integrity signature in response to the protected portion of the data packet header (306). The data integrity signature is included in an initial portion of the data packet (300). The data integrity signature is arranged to allow determination of at least one error in the protected portion of the data packet header (306).

摘要： In described examples, a communication device in a network may receive a stream of frames from the network, in which each frame includes one or more beacon packets (1004). A communication protocol being used by the network may be identified by tracking a preselected field within a sequence of beacon packets (1006), in which the preselected field varies in a first known manner for a first protocol (1008) and in a second known manner for a second protocol (1009). The communication device may then join the network (1010) using the identified communication protocol to transmit and receive data (1012).
