摘要： Systems and methods for decoding bitstreams are described. The bitstreams may be encoded using a punctured convolution code and received from a wireless network. A puncture pattern associated with a modulation and coding scheme used to encode the bitstream is determined, and punctured log-likelihood ratios (LLRs) generated from the bitstream are ignored while decoding the bitstream. The puncture pattern may be characterized by one or more algorithms that identify punctured LLRs in a repetitive sequence of LLRs. A decoder may exclude punctured LLRs from calculations related to bitstream decoding. The decoder may comprise a Viterbi decoder or an algebraic decoder. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

摘要： The present disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for improved transport block decoding in devices capable of wireless communication, which may include user equipment and network entities. For example, the present disclosure presents methods and apparatuses for decoding a code block from a plurality of code blocks corresponding to a transport block, obtaining a reliability indicator that identifies a reliability of the decoding of the code block, comparing the reliability indicator to a reliability threshold, and determining whether to decode a subsequent code block from the plurality of code blocks based on the comparing. Furthermore, these methods and apparatuses may include determining not to decode at least one subsequent code block of the transport block where the comparing indicates that the reliability indicator is less than the reliability threshold. As such, device power is not unnecessarily consumed by decoding likely superfluous code blocks.

The system uses common processing resources to provide up to four discrete channels having multi-rate convolutional error correction decoding resulting in a reduced silicon area and low power operation.
