摘要： This invention relates to a multilayered film for use as in-mold label, comprising: a core layer (110) having a first surface (112) and a second surface (114), the core layer (110) being comprised of a polymeric mixture and particulate solids dispersed in the polymeric mixture; and an ink-printable layer (120) overlying the first surface (112) of the core layer (110); the film being formed by co-extruding the core layer (110) and ink-printable layer (120) to form the multilayered film, hot-stretching the film at a temperature above the expected service temperature of the label to provide the film with a machine direction orientation, the density of the being reduced by about 10% to about 25% during hot-stretching, and annealing the film at a temperature above the expected service temperature of the label; the film having a machine direction Gurley stiffness value in the range of about 30 to about 120, a machine direction shrinkage of less than about 3%, and a machine direction shrink tension at 200°F (93.3°C) of less than about 100 psi.

The energy-beam-curable viscoelastic layer is, for example, composed of a composition of an organic viscoelastic body and an energy-beam-curable compound or an energy-beam-curable resin. The energy-beam-curable viscoelastic layer has a thickness of about 5 to 300 mu m or may be not greater than the maximum particle size of the thermo-expandable microspheres. The energy-beam-curable thermal-releasable pressure-sensitive adhesive layer according to the invention has adhesion enough to withstand a carrying step of an adherend, causes neither winding up of the adhesive nor chipping upon cutting and facilitates peeling and collection of cut pieces after cutting.

In one embodiment, the label is designed for use on silane-treated glass containers of the type that are subjected to pasteurization conditions. The adhesive layer (27) is formed by depositing onto the ink layer (25), e.g., by gravure printing, a composition comprising a water-based acrylic resin dispersion or emulsion, isopropyl alcohol and water, and then evaporating the volatile components of the composition to leave an acrylic film.
